I see alot of posts about turbos for this machine. Is that a safe mod?

How much money can be spent to wake these machines up some. (but not too much)

can anything be done for under $1000.

There's a basic bigbore kit for like $800 from some California company (Trinity Racing I think). There's also the Vent kit for a bit more $. Not a lot of options for 1K from what I've been able to locate.
