If you do a search there are a couple mega threads with pics of the under fender performance. If you don't feel like searching, the rundown is, results vary drastically. Some have had great success with their style of riding others have had terrible results and pulled it off and it just sits in the garage. Major issues I've seen/heard about, is constant scavnege fan damage and replacement (this is me, went through numerous fans and Im on the V2 seperator for the PRO XP now), not a good seal on the unit itself, as well as not a good seal at the airbox. The threads have numerous pics and opinions if you want to read further.

They are similar but the Pro R ones dont have as much use I think. I would think whatever problems plague the Pro XP would bleed over to the Pro R, but that is just a guess and I have no data.

If it matters SB customer service is great when you do have issues. Each time they had a fan in the mail and I had it installed, process was less than 5 days from start to finish. When the fan went out on the trail SB told me to just pull the fuse in the main harness until the fan was replaced. So you can run your rig if you have to if something goes wrong. I ran mine with no fan for the last 50 miles of a ride on the trail and there was still a clean air box.

I never had a single dust/separation issue like others. I made sure the unit was sealed as well as made sure my airbox was good. If I had filtration issues I might not be a happy customer. I did just do the V2 free upgrade program and so far that has been easy. I sent the old unit back last week and waiting on the refund now.

This may not help, but this has been my experience, for the count I had three scavenge fans go out, two got shredded with debris, one had no power. On the third time I was told about the V2 so I waited on that instead of getting a fourth fan. Not 1 single filtration issues in almost 2000 miles total now. I have about 1700 miles in the Utah mounts and little Sahara SLC and the last 300 miles are Arizona desert.

The Pro r unit is a completely different design man ....the whole thing is a Rock solid ..I'd be more worried about the airbox on the rzr itself.

2025 Pro R4, fender style S&B installed with about 10 hours on the machine. I found the stock filter was filthy after that initial 10 hours, but we've been dry and dusty this year. I figured the S&B would be just what I needed. I'm sad to report that after another 20 hours with the S&B installed that my filter and housing were completely full of dust. I couldn't tell that it made any difference at all. I have the upper bar mount style on my 2019 XP4 Turbo S and it's been flawless for over 800 hours. I think it goes without saying that getting it mounted up in the clean incoming air makes all of the difference. I've been in contact with S&B and after 5 or 6 emails they've basically told me "that's as good as you should expect". I'm disappointed in the customer service, and wonder if anyone else has found a clever method to install an upper rollbar mount unit into the 2025 model?

Dang, this was going to be my next purchase for the upcoming desert season. I have a 3 seat bench in the rear and removing it to get to the air filter is a total pain, because of the hardware at the bottom, and the harness’ take forever to resize for my 3 kids.. anyone have another option for some ‘pre’ air filter so I don’t have to spend 2 hours cleaning my filter after every trip?

I have an under fender S&B on my 23 Pro R, been in use for around 3500 miles in fairly dusty conditions. I have to say it works well, only a light dusting on the filter and in filter housing. I check it every time I change the oil which is usually around 500 miles.

In comparison to the stock set-up: I did the first oil change at 500 miles. The filter had a fine dust kinda like flour, and after tapping it on concrete, I had a pile maybe 1/4 cup fine dust. Haven't had this happen since the S&B install.

The fan on my S&B sounds like a jet engine ramping down when I turn off the car. For those who are having problems, does yours make this sound?

Still early in its life but, with about 500 miles of riding powdery dust of So. Utah filter has stayed clean. Other rigs before S&B I'd blow out the filter each day and even change it on long weekends.
The new version uses a coil wire to increase fan speed with ram's so it's quite at slow speeds.
This is about 200-250 miles on the 1st weekend out so everything was spotless before.

Yes sir, leveled and the fan changes speed with rpm. This is 20 hours of riding in my area. Note the amount of dust knocked out of the filter and the amount inside the fresh air tube. I also noticed your roll bar and filter housing area are clean, barely any sign of dust back there. I'm thinking based on your picture that you've got better clean air airflow around the rear of your machine. Mine is covered in dust everywhere and the bed area is full of silt

I had the high mount intake mounted under the roof. After my disaster with the shoulder harness mounted spare tire carrier, and going to the roll cage Polaris mounted carrier, the under roof intake no longer worked. Polaris Dealer installed the under side mounted unit. Nothing I love more than paying for the same functional part twice... But it gets better...

In the desert group riding in Lake Havasu, the dust is horrible... and guess what, the under fender mount just doesn't work. S&B response was too slow, and by the time I received their email, it was the day before going back into the shop AGAIN. I checked everything they suggested, except the seal on the air box. Aftermarket dealer checked that for me, everything was working as it should.

I paid to have the aftermarket dealer reinstall the original unit, but mount it on top of the roof. They also said they have had zero luck with under fender mounted air units in this environment, and discourage any customers from doing it. They added, the Polaris dealer knows this too, and they should have just moved my intake to the roof.

Frustrated with all the money spent on this one functional part.
