Rzr quality surpassed by a chinese model...

:rollfinger:

This is crazy. I have a new 2010 standard rzr with only about 60 miles or less on it and my cousin who has a used Chinese rhino replica and 8 times the hours and miles on it never has an issue...

He paid $4,000 and I paid $16,500...

Roughly every second time I drive my rzr I have a new problem. It could be very simple or it could be something serious that leaves me stranded.

I love my rzr for the fun factor, speed, and agility but the quality really doesn't seem to be there. I am now considering selling while there is something left to sell. I don't know what I would get to replace it though. I know the Rhino is a quality machine but the fun factor wont be near the same.

I have so many accessories now that i'm at the point of no return it seems. I feel like i'm stuck with a very expensive toy that will keep sucking money out of me for repairs because it probably isn't worth it to sell it. I hate this feeling.

The latest thing that happened is the speedometer stoped working. Yes I know this is a small problem but when you buy a new car and your speedometer stops working wouldn't you be upset. I can understand if the machine was like 5 years old or something and driven hard but my machine has not. I trail ride and thats it.

I drive circles around my cousins Chinese rhino clone with it's 350cc engine LOL ... but his is reliable and has never had a problem so it can't be bashed.

Do I have a lemon??? Anyone know the lemon laws in Nova Scotia?

Sorry for the vent guys.... I'm just getting a little PO....

I think so unless you've done something to it to cause the problems like running it through a pond without snorkels, lifting it 6 inches and breaking CVs, etc. I've had my rzr a year and i haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. In the mean time, my friends have broken a rhino and 4 atvs riding right behind me.

Justin,
I ride hard in the dunes and have not had one prob not even a hi-cup now the power that is a hole other thing. can you get a extended waranty at this point? if you have keep good recoreds on everything I mean time, date, place.what happen you can go back on them. I had to do that on a coach I paid $130,000 and in one year I had $56,000 worth of waranty repairs done that was it I went to court and settled for $35,000 for out of pocket exspense. It was truly a lemon.

Not too bag on the chinese clone but a 350cc? Is that fun after 5 minutes. I think a kawasaki Mule could beat it in a drag. :rofl3:

The rzr is a quality machine which has had some issues but for the most part been reliable for the masses. The airbox was the biggest thing that Polaris kept trying to fix with a band aid. The new airbox for the 900 xp looks way better.

Just wait for your friend to have problems then it will sit for a long time. Big problem with Chinese junk is parts they are very hard to get. More importantly, I have not seen any Chinese toy that was near the quality of American made stuff, they break often. Sounds like your friend has been lucky.

The chinos are getting better--same as the japanese got better. Only much faster.
It's not that I never had any problems with my 2 Rzrs, the 2 chinese buggies, or the others. Really it's my definition of "problem". Any machine that breaks or bends when flipped or run into a tree, weld cracks from trail pounding, rust from water crossings & putting it away wet, etc are not "problems" to me. That's all part of the offroad sport. I haven't experienced any manufacture-related problems with any of my offroad machines.

I'd like some real world feedback on this... It's not a clone but combines many nice elements from many machines...

I've heard all of the Chinese POS rhetoric and I'm not a fan of chinese stuff myself but there are a few good machines out now like the Kymcos for instance so save everybody's time if all you have to contribute is negative speculation.:)

I'm just wondering if anybody actually owns one or has seen one and can speak first hand about it ?

Heard they are going to try running the Wolverine in GNCC this upcoming year. And also last race I was in last year they had another on don't remember what they called it but it finished a 4 hour endurance race if that says anything for it...Do'nt know with a little tweaking to the motor and suspension you could have a really nice machine!

I studied the Wolverine closely for a while. The problem that scared me off was driving 500 miles to North Carolina just to look at one. When I was looking, I ran across a fellow down in Florida who bought the Rhino clone off the interenet from Texas. He indicated he was happy with it, but hadn't had it long. I ain't brave enough to buy one sight unseen from the net.

Is there anything on your RZR that broke that hasn't been covered under warranty?
If so, why/why not?

If it's under warranty and it broke under normal use, then they should cover it. If you've had to outlay a ton of money I'd be asking the same question.

My experience with my used RZR is that I haven't had an issue with anything. My battery is dead from not using it enough, but that's not Polaris' fault... that's mine.

I didn't get to use the warranty at all. Now the pitiful 6 month warranty is up and I have no warranty as of now. I didn't see the point of paying another $1,500 to Polaris for more warranty if they don't cover anything for me as it is...

I sound lately like I'm bashing the rzr badly. I don't mean to do that but my god can't I just go trail riding with my brand new $16,000 machine and come home happy?

I agree the Chino isn't half the machine that the rzr is when you get down looking close and when you compare the ability to find parts and service but the bottom line is this little Chino comes home safe every time and drives where my rzr does. Why can't I get my rzr home safe every time. LOL

Someone said in a post on another thread that once you keep replacing all the faulty parts you will have a good reliable machine but is that really what someone should have to do? Isn't the $16,000 enough to pay to be reliable?
