Just went through back surgery, been a quad and motorcycle guy forever. Is the rzr s or rzr 4 hard on you back ? I know that suspension seats help some but are these things known for giving people sore backs?
Thanks

I've had back problems for several years. I doubt that my RZR S will help my back, but having full back support from the seat is certainly better than what I've experienced on my ATVs/Motorcycles. I can nearly drive my RZR all day long without feeling pain.
The RZRs do ride good stock but the addition of suspension seats and good shocks make it night and day different from stock! Best money spent IMO:ride:
The suspension on the 4 is awesone..mainly due to the wheelbase it is way better than any quad you have been on..
If you can enjoy any recreational offroad vehicle wihtou pain the 4 would be the one IMO. Add some harnesses and give'er!
When I had my Rhino I would always wake up the following day with a sore back and I had suspension seats in it. My girlfriend got it worse than I. After I bought the RZR she was in no hurry to go for a ride. Our first ride we did about 45 miles. Went back to camp and both woke up with no sore back. We commented on what a difference it was. To this day I have done some long rides in the 70 mile range and the only thing sore are my shoulders from the harnesses. I have suffered from a bad back for about 12 years from a high speed roll over on the freeway, a rear end accident and a bad motorcycle accident that put me on a helicopter so my spine is less than perfect. If you pick good lines the RZR is pretty easy on the back.
Ya, I took a test drive in a stock RZR-S on the 4th of July and was reminded how much difference the progressive springs make. My RZR-S is much smoother than a stocker... best $450 I have spent on the RZR by far!
I have a bad back and ride every weekend. Of course I've only had mine for 1 month. LOL. I think if my back would start hurting I would just keep riding because of the benefit of the stress reliever. Go for it! You won't be sorry.int:
Same here. I've been disabled for over twenty five
years. This is the reason I bought a Razor., To get
out in the hills and have some fun in life. Before I
bought the Razor the only good thing in my life was
my wife. Now we have something we love doing. I can't
ride as much as alot of the people on this forum do, but the
smile never leaves my face after each ride. I've been
slowly adding on to the RZR to make it a better rider.
At present FUTV is going to install my SuperATV +5 LT
kit with the 1 1/2" off set to the front and rear. Dave at
FUTV will also be installing my power steering by unisteer..
I'll be getting Lt shocks from Steve at Makin'Trax soon, this
will make the RZR ride like a dream with this set-up.
There a great group of people on this forum. If there's something
you need to know all you have to do is ask. There are always
forum members that will help out a person if need be no questions asked.
THIS FORUM ROCKS IN EVERY WAY A PERSON DREAMS ABOUT.
TOP NOTCH FAMILY ALL THE WAY AROUND.
Crushed disc L5-S1............severely painful (like drop to knees in pain) at times if I over do it. Sold the quad due to this condition. Recently bought an 08 RZR and added +5 suspension. Still running the factory shocks and have had no issues so far. I was worried it would still be painful, but its been a good experience so far.
I have an back that's given me some problems over the years. I have a rzr 4 with stock front seats with twisted stitch vortex seats coming in this weekend. The rzr 4 is pretty comfortable on the trails and with small jumps. But last weekend I took a pretty big jump and....I'm 5' 8" tall. But before last weekend? I was 5'10"
My back's been sore for a few days. I'm hoping those vortex seats make a difference.
I started feeling beat up on my dirtbike and quads after a couple hrs of riding... I got my rzrs and I can ride that thing all day long and the only thing i feel is my legs get a little tired ( have no idea why) Im 6'2" so I suppose its the lack of leg room.. dont get me wrong, im still comfortable in it all day. Its just at the end of the day they are tired. Ive had a bad back most of my life, and I have yet to feel any sign of back pain from the rzrs. I hit large whoops wide open, and do a little jumping too!! I wouldnt suggest that for someone who had back surgery, but just letting you know, I dont think you could go wrong with at least an S model rzr.
I have periodic back problems after 20 years in the Army jumping out of airplanes, ruck marching etc. I am 44 years old and have a family of four. On a week long vacation in Mena, Arkansas we rode our RZR 4 over 300 miles in 5 days with no problems or pains. This thing is just like driving a car, I think its very comfortable. We would have riden a sixth consecutive day but our 30 year old friends were exhausted and in pain from riding 4 wheelers. We love our RZR 4.
Back problems... I had to sell all my ATV's andSnow machines, Im selling my Ultralight, & I bought a RAZR, I'm missing Ribs, parts of my lungs, liver and went through 23 surgures, I have three electronic stimulators installed in me and I am able to ride the RAZR all I want, Now i do need power steering, But its a great machine! I'm looking into getting some suspension seats now!!
look in to the 4 seater the longer wheelbase helps the ride alot. test drove 2 seater and it rode fine but the 4 seater is what i went with because of wife's back problems she could no longer ride atv's and the folks that has rode in the 4 seater love it and are talking about trading there 2 seaters in. what is nice about them also is that when your kids invite someone to go with you that just shows up they have a place to ride! they do take a little more room to turn and i have high centered it once on top of a dune but it was a very peaked one and then you just learn to go over the top just fast enough so it will drag but goes over. its also longer so make sure it will fit on your trailer.
I would think the seats would make the biggest difference. With the stock seats your sitting on a padded hard plastic base.On suspension seats your ass is sitting on a piece of fabric stretched between a metal frame.Kinda like a lawn chair.
I had major back surgery two years ago.
The only time my back doesnt hurt for some reason is when riding in my RZR S.
Kind of weird but it helps to calm down my back pain.
The Vicodin doesn't hurt either lol.
