Why havent they put the 850 XP engine in the RZR? At 70 HP that would put it right in line with the 71 HP of the Commander 800 and give us quite a nice boost in performance. I just dont see spending the money to put it up into range, esp at the sacrafice of reliability.

Anybody know if we will ever see that happen? It seems silly they dont, plus I wouldnt have to watch the RZRs get beat by Can Am's.

It would make a much more even playing field regardless of the apples v oranges of the design of the two machines. A diffferent frame for the engine seems kind of easy if you are polaris, esp with an engine already in production. Also that drive by wire approach to the throttle is a heck of a good idea IMO to reduce throttle flutter, even with the heel pocket.

The tranny for the diesel Ranger is a 850 tranny with a few changes.
well it sounds to me that polaris could install the 850 in a heavy duty ranger first and slip it into the rzr next...my2c...mudd

I think they have done a great job with other designs like the RZR 4. I just cant believe they wouldnt have reacted to the can am's power to weight ratio and so much higher HP and not done something about it. Given the experience they have with the 850, making a drivetrain shouldnt be any problem. Of course I would want to see it in the RZR right away! lol.
