hopefully someone has an idea but my 2011 rzr with turbo which had same problem before turbo installed has high idle about 15% of time. it idles at 1250-1300 rpm 85% of time. you can push accelator peddle about 2mm before idle raises when idleing correctly. engine only seems to idle high {1700rpm} when i get to riding park after riding for 30-45 minutes then when i get home to work on it or try to diagnose problem then rzr idles 1250-1300. any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks darters racing:redrzr:

ok got it to act up & removed throttle cable cover at throttle body & found when removeing cover that fuel was dripping out. check throttle plate & is up against throttle stop screw. it is definitely not the cable. any one ever seen fuel in there? also noticed when idleing that there is little bit of fuel leaking past throttle shaft. normal? now it is idleing 1700 rpm & it will not lower. also origanally it seemed like it happened after it was pressure washed. any more ideas would be nice.

No that is not normal. It sounds like your throttle shaft bushings are worn out but on a 2011 model? WOW. I had one that was worn out, but it never leaked fuel. The problem it did cause, was you could not keep the TPS adjusted properly because the throttle shaft had so much slop in it. One of the symptoms of that was an erratic high idle, mostly only after the engine was fully warmed up and the ECU was running on the normal operating temperature map, not the cold running map. Also make sure you have plenty of play in your throttle cable, like an 1/8" at the pedal or that will cause a high idle.

OH...one more thing to check. I have had this one happen to me also. The throttle plate screws apparently loosened up just enough that the throttle plate slid over and was rubbing the bore of the body, and not closing completely every time. This was intermittent also as sometimes it would fully close. Loosened the screws more and it actually centered itself, then retightened screws.

jeff thanks for your replies i will remove throttle body & check throttle plate to see if centered. also on throttle cable adjustment i removed throttle cable cover & throttle plate is touching set screw & you can push throttle shaft ip against set screw by hand & idle still the same.

ok i removed throttle cable completely & no help on idle. removed throttle body, not one spec of dirt, looked at throttle plate looks dead on center, no signs of rubbing anywhere. checked connectors on throttle body & cleaned them, removed iac sensor & cleaned throttle body. any one ever seen iac valve go bad? still have same problem any more ideas?

Donny,
If you know how to check your TPS volt reading with a meter you need to do that. That is just another thing to rule out. Also, did you check for slop in the throttle shaft? Can you wiggle it up and down or side to side? If there is too much play your TPS will never hold a good reading and will cause all kinds of problems, an intermittent or continuous high idle included.

well all back together idleing 1200-1250, will take to hollister hills tomorrow, hopefully it stays this way. if problem reoccurs will drop off with mike at delta power sports. cleaned & greased every connector on rzr. will check back on subject tomorrrow. also going to frank raines on sunday.
