Hello, I'm new to this site and side by sides. I am looking into buying my first side by side and am looking for some advice. I live in Michigan and love riding my sport quad on the 50 inch trails in the Northern part of the state. So a 50 inch width RZR fits the bill for my needs. My question is not so much which is better between the 570 and 800, but more of what either one does best or better. I have done some searches and found info that is kind of all over the place. One thing that does seem clear is that in stock form acceleration is similar with the 800 pulling away towards the top end. I have also read the 570 doesn't respond as well to mods like an exhaust. It sounds like if your going to mod the RZR, the 800 has more possibilities performance wise. Anyways some advice, tips, and info would be welcomed!

As you say, opinions will be all over the place. 570 owners will claim theirs are the best and the 800 owners will say the same. I will say two things, 1-they are both great machines and there are tons of mods you can do to both. 2- The 570 will require different springs and shocks at some point in time. The stockers are adequate for getting used to the machine but as you progress in speed and your balls get bigger leading you into gnarly rocky trails, then you need something better.

I own the best, I own one of each :). They both have there better than the other features but without going into a lot of detail when I jump in one I jump in the 570 every time. I ride nothing but 50" trails and both of mine are 50". There is just something about that little 570 that flat works on tight trails.:huepfenicon111:

Good day!

I have a 800 and love it!

Those who own 570's love seem to love their ride as well...

As to accesories... seems to be a multitude for either...

Sooo, I am guessing that you will find that opinions are like as*holes and everyone has one...:)

Bottom line, life is more fun with a RZR than without!:ride:

Best of luck!:pint:

I went with the 800 just because I am an average rider that doesn't ride at top end but in the midway and figured I would be pushing top end on the 570 more often than not. I also have a lot of steep hills, and when I get on it to make them with a load, I wanted to be sure I did.

I have a 800 LE and love it! Although, I would look real hard at the newer 570 for just one reason, their turf mode! I have a long large concrete driveway and leave lots of tire tracks when turning, only need it when on the lawn or the driveway/hard surface. I guess another reason their a lot easier to work on!

I have a 570 and a 400ex. Some say the 570 pulls off the line quicker than an 800. Based on the videos I have seen they are neck and neck until about 45mph so for sake of discussion lets call them even at acceleration.

My 400ex is overbored with exhaust and intake.

I haven't ridden them side by side and it has been quite a while since I have ridden the Honda so I can't say for certain but I'd give my 400ex the edge. They are very different driving experiences though. You do sacrifice some quickness and nimbleness because of the size and weight of the RZR. However, the difference isn't anywhere near as much as I expected. I really expected it to be clunky and slow but it isn't. The RZR is a blast to drive. I should sell my 400ex because I have see no reason to take it over the RZR for my purposes.

The reason I went with the RZR was to get something more utility/trail oriented. The 400ex wouldn't do me any good during hunting season and I am usually the weakest link among the guys I ride with on the trails because they all have utility quads with 4x4. There have been several times where we have been going up some rocky mountains that I just couldn't climb with the 400ex so we had to turn back. Now I can with the RZR.

I have gone head to head with a Kawasaki Grizzly 450 on a dry lake bed and left it behind immediately. On the trail he has a harder time too because he has to fight all of the bumps and rocks and I get to sit comfortably and let my power steering eat them up.

The 570 is a nice machine, no question. I'm just talking about human behavior and perceived value.

If a Prostar 800 is introduced a (my) standard 800 will be worth less, for exactly the same reason, and a 570 less than that...

I got an 800 and the son has a 570. Both are new 2013's I really like the sound and feel of the twin cylinder 800 personally, but if you can put that out of your mind ?? I think the 570 is the better buy. In fact I think the new 570 is an awesome buy. My son got his for about 10,100 out the door with a 14" wheel and bighorn tire upgrade. Add Super Atv power steering and that is a great ride for less than $11,000 and will go anywhere my 800 will and never runs out of power in the woods.

I would agree on the re sale. On any machine I've ever bought or sold smaller is cheaper in my mind better or not. The 570 is and has been promoted by polaris as an entry level machine. It's a good one and depending on what you want to do with it may fit your needs and be all you ever want it to be. If your plans are turbo or big bore go fast stuff there is no misplacement for displacement, even with the old push rod design you'll be able to get more power from a boosted 800 then a boosted 570. 570 has a much better design being overhead cam and will get double the mileage probably 10 times the life of an 800. Stock for stock they're dam close I ride with my uncle who has one. I haul 10 gallons of extra gas he laughs every time we stop for me to fill up. For me I wanted to add the go fast stuff so the 800 worked better for my needs. Don't get me wrong a turbo would really wake up a 570 but it will not get the numbers that have been attained with the 800. Look back at the rhino same design engine only bigger and everything they tried to get it to run, turbo's big bores ect... most did motor swaps. If I was going to leave mine relatively stock maybe an exhaust, wheels and tires I would buy a 570 for mileage and longevity, both need shocks upgraded and with the money saved buying a 570 the shocks would about be free. Either one you buy will be equally fun so get off the computer and go get one. I sure wouldn't let any resale illusion sway your purchase because with either one especially if you mod and accessorize your going to take it up the butt when you sale it. Buy it to have fun not to sale it, you can't go wrong with either one, good luck.
