Replacing XP Turbo crank seal

I decided to do some winter upgrade. Bought the Sandcraft complete driveline solution While tearing things down found my front diff was leaking on my 17 Turbo. No problem the kit comes with all new bearing and seals for the diff.

Then the really bad news was found. My crank seal was leaking. You have two options to fix this. One, pull the motor and crack open the engine case and replace the Polaris crank seal. My machine is out of warranty and this route is expensive. I had read that a company called Warranty Killer Performance made a seal that you can put on without pulling the motor. The seal and cover cost $100. To get the bad seal out of the engine is not fun. It took my friend and I about 3 1/2-4 hours to remove the old seal. You can see by the pictures the old seal was a mess when it decided to let go. You then clean up the area around the crank end. You install the seal and put the aluminum case over the seal and presto my leak was gone. I have run my machine for about 1 hour and every thing looks perfect.

This is what mine looked like this spring when I removed my transmission. I cleaned it up thinking it was leaking around the plug and weeping up since the majority of the buildup was around the plug.

I can see behind the inner CVT cover that it’s doing it again. My thought is crank seal except for every time I pull my primary clutch (which is often) I’ve never had oil on the crank and the CVT cover is sealed against the motor with an o-ring so you would think if it was crank seal it would be contained.

Thoughts? If it was in fact leaking at the plug below the crank, would oil really weep upwards?
