Removing Polaris Lock & Ride Windshield

I bought one of these to ride early and late season when it's still pretty cold. I wanted to take it off to drill some holes for the RAM mount for my Garmin, and now I can't get the sucker off. At least not without running the risk of breaking it. Anyone else have any experience with this? Those big clamps are tight. Thanks.

I pryed mine off, just do it by the clamps

The first time I pulled mine off I thought I was going to break it for sure. Now I simply hit the windshield from the inside by each clamp. Have removed it many times this way and it is still in one piece. I guess what I am saying is the windshield is much less brittle than you think.

I got the driver's side off last night so that I could drill holes in the dash to mount my Garmin. I used a heat gun and hope to get some sort teflon or graphite lubricant in place before snapping it back on. I sure hope these clamps soften up a bit over time.
