I have been thinking about getting my daughter a RZR 170 if she get's straight A's. So here's my thinking, I really dont want to get a new one but would rather get a used one with engine problems. WHY? Well, I have access to a few dirtbike engine's and wanted to know from you 170 owners if someone could put a different engine in one. I have a KTM 300 2 stroke engine, KTM 400 4stk & 450XC engine. I also can get a Honda 230 4stk engine if I want. So with that being said, is there enough room to do an install? Has Anybody done something like this? Or should I just not waste my time.

I like the fact I can put a cage & doors around her but I'm just not sure if it's worth the time...

Good Luck if your are going to make it,if polaris made it a mid-engine and added a swingram same as quads it will be perfect,check Bob from FUTV i started a thread about an engine swap he said that they have an ninja 250cc in the shop that they are going to put the engine inside the 170.

Because polaris put the motor in side ways a repower would be hard. You would have to make a new swing arm and mount the motor to it. I'll get flamed for this , but look for a broken down chinese buggy and put your motor in it. They are already set up for it. (roketa, yerf dog, sunL, dazon, carter,)
