Yes patience i found out after breaking a few.

 

If you break or lose any go here ClipsAndFasteners.com - Automotive Retainers,Clips and Fasteners and put in p/n PAS1861-25 They are 6.99 for 25.

 

The pliers that come with the tool kit have a groove in the tip thats made to remove the fasteners.

 

i use a pair of side cutters to pull them seems to be the easiest way

 

i bought a set of plies made for those pin's from snap on ,they work great about 22.00 buck's

Just remove the middle pin with a small screw driver, pull it out, then pull the remaining piece out. Many people think they can remove the entire pin at once, all that does is break them, you need to get center pin out first.

 

diagonal cutters be carefull or just go buy a new set

 

You can go to the local livestock supply store and purchase a set of Hog Ring pliers.

Am I missing something. Bought an 09 several months ago and I don't remember seeing any type of tool kit with it. Is it hidden somewhere on the unit? I've been under the seat in that box but it's empty. Maybe I should check the owners envelope I received, but I really don't remember seeing any tools when I got this thing.

 

Sometimes the tool kit comes in the owners packet, and sometimes it is under the hood. Other times, the dealer removes it when doing paperwork, or final build up, and prep. I would ask the dealer to see if he has a spare one laying around.

 

I think mine was in the envelope when i purchased it, or it was under the hood..... i cant remember, but i did get one, just dont remember.

 

Thanks all for the help. Did get them off after reading "Take the middle out first", Daaaaaaaaaaaa. Got all the part numbers including one for NAPA. Going to buy some just to have, just in case. Thanks again everyone for all the help.

 

Ok I lost the tool kit for the RZR...

Use a thin 4" cutoff wheel to cut a slot in the jaws of a regular set of pliers. Works just as good and are way more comfortable to hold than the Polaris hand-torture tool.

 

Side / Diagonal cutters work for me. Just use them to grasp the center pin right under its top edges and pull it out. Do this a few times and it won't hold as well so having a dozen spares around comes in handy, especially if you drop a pin and it disappears somewhere inside the machine.

 

I took the ones in the kit and ground the end back to about 1/16 from the grove, makes it real easy to pull them.Swanney

My tool kit was in the "waterproof storage box":rofl3: under the seat

 

The guy in the service dept handed me mine along with the owners manual and DVD in a zip-loc bag when I picked it up. Lowe's also sells the push pins in packs of two for just over a buck. I grab a few every so often.

 

I took an old pair of needle nose, heated and bent the ends inward. They work great.

 

NAPA sells identical ones. bag of 25 for around 5 or 6 bucks. I can get a part number if anyone needs it

 

Part number PLEASE...

 

NAPA # for a package of 7 is 665 2389, for a package of 25 it's 665 3399. I did get the package of 7 and asked for the 25 but they didn't have that part number or maybe I wrote down the 25 # wrong. NAPA had to order them. It took 4 hours for them to get them. Pretty cool they have them available.
