Contemplating on pulling trigger for spring.. I'm in no hurry as I have a teryx and I am keeping it.

With all the issues... Should I wait or are they slowly being fixed my polaris. Dealer has a nuclear one build date of 1/8/14.

Opinions? Please help with my dilema!

btw ... I no longer have my 13 XP

I don't think they necessarily "wait" for that kind of thing. They just change the part in the middle of the production line if it's deemed necessary. I know there are some changes year-to-year, but not something like that IMO. I also can't see the 2015 1K being a whole lot different than the '14. Just a guess based on prior history.

I hear ya. Apparently the Polaris rep in my local area knows about the DS.

I have been emailing back and forth with the dealer and he said he wants to check the machine I was interested in. Again it was built 1/8/14 I believe he stated. Does Polaris itself recognize the issue?

I told him about the belt rubbing, clutch issues, silicone crap in the coolant, Shocks bending, etc..

Aside from that, what else is major?

I was pricing a 3 year warranty added. So a total of 4 years. Polaris is offering 1 year included now. Some incentive at the moment

At what point do 15's become available for order? I know I got my '13 XP in 8/12 if I recall.

Not sure on the warranty. In the email from the dealer he just stated Polaris is offering 6+ 6 right now..

I can't help but to make my end of the deal on have the dealer check some issues beforehand. I really think the DD clutch maybe worth the investment anyway. Out of the gate - no issues with that part of the machine.

Driveshaft - another thing that can be checked.

if you can wait and wanna wait then wait. never know what will hit the market. ride what you have untill you just cant take it anymore.

Whatever issues they having with the current models im sure they will either fix or will leave alone due to the fact of " if you fix this issue, then this will break as well".....

i know that dam throttle vane sensor is pissing me off every damn ride... I have the resistor coming to fix that myself

I really appreciate all the opinions....

I am going to do some sould searching over the next few days.

Right now I have to finance half of it. If I wait until August-Oct time frame.... I can pay cash.......

I want the dealer to get back to me Monday. He said they were going to go over their machine....

I want to hear what they have to say...he was honest and said he knew about the DS and the clutch issues. I want them to tell me what kind of shape their machine is in . He also said he heard about the shocks bending. He assured me it was on "early" ones.

Here are the changes to expect for 2015-BNG!!! (bold new graphics)

Polaris has to feel like the driveshaft issue is a issue to truly correct the issue...........
(and in my opinion-yes it's noisy, but have not heard of 1 failure yet)

We bought our 2014 XP1000 out of the very 1st batch built and have loved every minute of it!!! If it were stolen tonight and I had to replace it tomorrow and the price went up 5000.00, I would bitch about the inflated price and then pay the man for another XP1000
!!!! The stuff you read here needs to be taken with a grain of salt............

Yeah i pretty much agree about the BNG.. LOL

I saw polaris issued that bulletin about pulling the driveshaft apart and rotating it... Is that their fix? Has anyone tried it?

As for the clutch, I may do some entry level woods racing... Nothing big... Just for fun locally... Would I benefit from the DD clutch anyway?

Just wondering....

I was just merely thinking that factory bugs would be worked out if I waited.

I work for a dealer that also has a Polaris dealership, they did the bulletin on my driveshaft and it 'seemed' better for a day or 2, but it's still noisy. I bought the warranty and figure if the drive shaft eats the frt diff, so what. Not the right attitude to have, but Polaris seems to think everything is fine. LOL

As far as clutching goes, we race ours and have had 0 issues racing, rock climbing, on and on. My biggest thing is I love the engine braking with the stock clutch and do NOT want to lose it. The only time I use the brake pedal is when I'm climbing a hill to keep it going straight! I use the gas pedal going down hills 99.9% of the time.

Gentleman, I always appreciate the feedback.

Here is where I stand:

I am working a deal via email from Florida - heading back to Pittsburgh today.

Dealer has black pearl with a build date of 1/22/14..... Polaris financing approved. 1000.00 off retail. Polaris warranty 3 years, 1150 (retail is said to be 1540). Winch and brush guard about 750. I am planning on paying off anyway by October with some money coming in.

I want it, I really do. Anyone have any pics of black pearl de-stickered?

Thanks..

Doesn't seem like they will move much more.
