Hi, I have a 2013 900 xp 4 walker Evans esp. It has close to 4000 miles on it. 300 of them might be from me. I haven't had it that long. The guy I bought it from claims to have done regular maintenance on it at his local dealer. From the looks of it and the way it drives, I can tell it was taken care of. I ride it hard. I had noticed a few rides ago that it was sometimes hard to get into and out of a gear. Not always. I did get into water one time and felt a little slip and instantly drained the belt housing. After a few minutes I road and it seemed like it had never happened. The last time I went out I accidentally, and I swear it was an accident, went into a major mud hole and got stuck. I don't have a winch yet, and was alone. I went back and forth for about a half hour, then called for help. On the way home I heard it start squealing a little and still trying to go after applying the brakes. Got it home and can only shift when off. Took belt cover off and there was some mud and water inside. Belt spins all the time. Checked the center bearing and it's froze. That long story leads to this. I don't have the removal tool. I know what most are going to say, and I'll take it, but...I've seen people make home made tools by using a long bolt and adding things like socket extensions or what not in front of the bolt. My question is, can't I use the bolt that came out of it, if I add a piece of round stock, just smaller than the threads of the primary bolt, and it work just the same?
