Great, that sounds easy enough. I wasn't sure if it was key driven or not.I just tied it into the key on hot wire on the back of the power outlet(cigarette lighter) It is the center wire on the back of the outlet. I used a new female spade connector and put all 3 wires into it and soldered then then just plug it back into the spade on the back of the power outlet.
Yeah I was suprised at the mistake that Unisteer had in the instructions.. They even show a picture, and the colors (you could tell because of the stripe) but sure enough..It wasnt the first wire that they described... Either way... I hope he enjoys his EPS..well, I KNOW he will!!It won't drain with the ignition off. I preferred not to use the actual ignition wire as they suggest. I would rather not tap into an actual ignition wire if I don't have to..jmo
Now I am especially glad I wired it like I did:rofl3:Yeah I was suprised at the mistake that Unisteer had in the instructions.. Cheers, Mike
I just looked at my instructions..and the instructions I have they actually do show the connection to the SECOND wire from the left..If you want it tied into the ignition(like it says) the picture shows the far left wire as you pull the plug out and it faces you...DONT USE THAT ONE (its connected to the starter) and your power steering will only work if you have the "starter running" youll break it.. It is the second wire to the right... But the other way will work too, Just dont know if it will drain power when the ignition is off...
