I just tied it into the key on hot wire on the back of the power outlet(cigarette lighter) It is the center wire on the back of the outlet. I used a new female spade connector and put all 3 wires into it and soldered then then just plug it back into the spade on the back of the power outlet.

Edit..just notice you asked about the main power wire as well..For the main power wire you are supposed to route it to the batter and you have to solder in the fuse that they sent. I actually ran mine right over to the winch solenoid and put it on the stud with the wire that comes from the battery to the solenoid. Doubt I'll be winching and working the steering wheel hard enough at the same time to overload the cable from the solenoid to the battery.

Great, that sounds easy enough. I wasn't sure if it was key driven or not.

If you want it tied into the ignition(like it says) the picture shows the far left wire as you pull the plug out and it faces you...DONT USE THAT ONE (its connected to the starter) and your power steering will only work if you have the "starter running" youll break it.. It is the second wire to the right... But the other way will work too, Just dont know if it will drain power when the ignition is off...

It won't drain with the ignition off. I preferred not to use the actual ignition wire as they suggest. I would rather not tap into an actual ignition wire if I don't have to..jmo

Yeah I was suprised at the mistake that Unisteer had in the instructions.. They even show a picture, and the colors (you could tell because of the stripe) but sure enough..It wasnt the first wire that they described... Either way... I hope he enjoys his EPS..well, I KNOW he will!!
Cheers, Mike

Now I am especially glad I wired it like I did:rofl3:

Yeah...haven't heard of one person who wasn't very pleased with the Unisteer unit on the RZRs. I'm sure he'll like it.

I just looked at my instructions..and the instructions I have they actually do show the connection to the SECOND wire from the left..
