Hello all, I have a 22 Polaris general 1000, and I think it is having transmission issues but not quite sure. It has the same transmission as the RZR 1000. Everything was fine with it, until we got in it to drive it today. It drives completely find in reverse and low gear. When in high gear, the rear left tire skips a couple of times on the pavement, then it gets moving. After moving a couple of feet it sounds like a clunking sound coming from the transmission area on the left side. However, if you keep driving it and gain rpm/speed everything is fine again. Not sure what is happening.

Update, when the machine is in, reverse and low, it jerks at first, then ride, smooth. When put in high gear with shifter and jerks at first, and there is a grinding sound. If you put in high gear by hand and not the shifter, it still jerks at first but there is no grinding. The jerking in all gears stop once you get going

Possibly normal with turf mode equipped machine. If you ever want to delete it we can hook you up on the parts. If you want to rule out shift cable undo your cable at the trans and shift it by hand into high-all the way forward-and see if it still does it

You might want to check the shifting cable for proper adjustment to ensure it is putting the transmission all the way into gear. JMHO

Does this jerk happen when you are slowly adding throttle like trying to come out of a garage or off a trailer. I have found with my rig if I start real slow from an idle I get some jerking with that said it doesn't happen if bring the throttle in a little faster. I was told it one of the characteristics of the Polaris clutch. I run mine in turf mode when on pavement.
