Going to install an autometer electric oil pressure guage and I'm not sure where the sending unit should be installed. I have a 2012 and I believe I see the stock sender near the oil filter but I'm not sure how it is threaded?

You need a flex hose between the cases and sending unit... If you use a hard pipe style nipple it'll break for sure...

where at on the cases?? I see a plug above the oil filter but I'm thinking this may have something to do with the oil pump. Does anybody have pic's with there flex hose installed?

I think that is where I installed my sending unit. I will have to look when I get home and try and post a pic of my install. But I do think mine was right above my oil filter on an 08 rzr 800.

YES BUT USE A FLEX LINE BETWEEN THE FITTING IN THE CASES AND THE SENDING UNIT or it will break from vibrations......

I'm thinking mine is different, I have a 2012 and I don't believe the is a plug or tapped hole there. My OEM sending unit looks to be above the oil filter in a little bit of a different area. I'll check when I get home, thanks for all the help and I'll let you know if mine looks the same.

I called auto meter cause im wanting to install one on my xp also and they said the pro-comp fluid filled is the only one they recommend for a UTV. Do we need a sender or is that just on electrical guages and not mechanical ?

above the oil filter is camshaft sensor to let ECU know when #1 is @ TDC, required on 2011-2012 models since they have sequential fuel injection vs bank or batch fire eFI on 2008-2010 models

Yes...that is a counter-rotating engine sold in the Southern hemisphere. Maybe some Aussies will chime in!:rofl3:

Do yourself a favor and get a Dakota Digital gauge. I have the Dakota Digital Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Voltage. Gives me accurate readings and with a quick scan of the dash I know what's going on.

I got the Concours Specialties dash plates as a door prize at the RZRForums rally in Taylor Park, CO. I would recommend them as they are excellently made.

Here's a couple pictures of my oil pressure sending unit. Flex line came with my old gauge set from Quadovator. Don't know if they are still out there or not.

Yup, its an Ultimate SXS oil filter relocation kit. Joe Allard is the guy.

Here's the site: KITS

I've gotta find 'em but I have a few pictures of where I relocated my filter. Installed it to start with, then made a mount and moved it.

Lemme know if you're interested in pics.

OK,

Here's the link to my photobucket album on the oil filter relocation kit installation.

Oil Filter Relocation - Ultimate SXS pictures by Rooster5488 - Photobucket

In the album you will find all 17 pages of the write up I prepared on the project. In addition you will find the five "new mount" pictures of my filter mount as it is now. I use the Delco PF60 oil filter as it is smaller in diameter and provides clearance from the air canister and the rear sway bar.
