Hey all,
New to the board. I just want to say hi. I do not own a side by side yet. However, from my searches on the internet, it seems like the Polaris RZR S might be the way to go. I don't know anyone with a side by side. All of my friends have 4wheelers. I like the idea and functionality of something like a RZR. I know it's in a different category, but if I go out in a RZR will I literally get left in the dust by my 4wheeling friends? Also, can you guys sell me on a RZR? In other words, why should you get a RZR S vs a new Teryx 750 Sport? I'd use it mainly for recreational trail riding. However, my biggest concern is the performance of the RZR S on sand dunes. I'd be more than willing to do sand paddles etc, but can you compare this thing to the way a 4 wheeler performs on dunes? In other words, would I regret getting one? I'm under the impression the RZR S is "the one to beat". PLEASE, let me know what you guys think. I'm looking forward to learning from the board and I hope to hear from you guys soon.

THANKS...

Welcome to the forum
The S kicks but. I can keep up with quads (4 wheelers) in my RZR and I can dune with the best of them. PLEASE! PLEASE! DON'T TRY TO KEEP UP WITH THE QUADS UNTIL YOUR DRIVING SKILS MATCH THE RZR S. It takes time to get good and your friends will try to kill you.

I picked up my rzr800 a couple of weeks ago and have been riding quads for ever. You will not have a problem keeping up with your friends. I am having an absolute blast with the rzr. I also picked up the rzr 170 for my kids and were all having a great time together. We live in Chicago area. We went to Rocky Glenn last week and the cliffs yesterday! Get one if you can. I would recommend doing your research first. If you plan on riding the trails in WI or MI the state has a 50" width rule. I think the only qualified UTV is the RZR800. The S is to wide. Check it out.

I was just thinking about the width rules out there. Thanks for the info. Have you been to The Badlands with it in Indiana? Are they limited to 50 inches also? Where do you live? I'm actually in Lockport, IL now.
(Where is Rocky Glenn and The Cliffs?)--I'm assuming they have the 50 inch rule.
Thanks again...Talk to you soon.

Oh yea,
Before I forget. I was wondering if you guys can help me with one more bit of information. What size trailer can handle a RZR or a RZR S? I know there is a width difference between the two. So, what trailer dimensions can handle each machine? Thanks again. This board has been great!

In Chicago as well, been riding quads for 20 years. I thought at first a side by side, WTF. After taking one to Monroe Cheese Trails, I loved it. It will pull with the best of them and doesn't leave you feeling like jello at days end. Just picked up an 800S and don't regret it!!! Ever want to ride let me know, we are always looking to expand the group.
