Hi guys. Just got a new turbo last week. The blue and black model. Anyway. This is my first sxs and have a couple questions. But first a little about me. Always have had quads and love to ride. But am not very mechanically inclined.

Question 1
The clanking. I’ve read that it’s normal. But does it every go away.

Question 2.
How often do you check or change your filter.

So far I’ve done a roof, lower doors, light bar, mirror, and half windshield.
I plan on a bumper and radio next.

Is there anything I should be regularly checking on the RIG

Change your differential fluid every 20 hours if you drive mostly in 4 wheel . I change mine every 10 or 15 hrs especially if dune / dessert riding it only holds a very small amount of oil
Otherwise follow your POL manual in the maintenance section ...use commons sense and do things sooner if you ride hard or in water mud
Start a note book and write down all you do to it over the years

Also buy a Donaldson or Dessert craft air filter and keep an eye on it and all intake / air connections ...always

Make a long term build plan for things you want to buy for it and research them in depth before you buy.

Clanking not sure what you are hearing ...they make lots of noises...some normal some not

The 7 P's ...( Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance)

Ok. Appreciate the input. I’ve been reading a lot about the cat removal. It looks like a PITA honestly. Is putting a new slip on a better option?

If you want to keep it as quiet as possible with no performance loss even with a tune than yes do the Cat gut ....and save a lot of dollars ...I think it is the best option unless you just want loud and bling

Welcome...
Just got my XPT 2 months ago.

The racket you hear especially on deceleration and bumpy roads according to my dealer is normal.

I am in about the same boat as you. First SXS . Lots of ATV riding. Have full metal doors, light bar, half windshield, and a few other items.

I got the service manual and plan to follow it to the letter and write down (actually making a spreadsheet) exactly what is done and at what hours/miles. I did get a 5 year extended warranty (ball equipment on this site has great prices and wonderful customer service). Some say its not worth it. I wanted peace of mind.

Either way enjoy!

Another question. Like a fool. I let my kid take out my rig. He brings it back on a trailer and a huge kink on the lower arm. Real bad. What can I expect to fix because of it and what’s the best lower arms to get.

As for a arms check out houser racing for lower a arms. They are high clearance, thicker tubing, come with upgraded needle bearing bushings at frame and hd frap brand lower ball joints. They are 350 bucks for the pair and can be replaced with pretty much a 15mm box end wrench and 15mm ratchet wrench in a half our or so.

I will also add u didn't specify what lower arm front or rear. If it's a rear check out nrp (nitro racing parts). They sell some nice billet aluminum high clearance lower radius rods for a really good price as well. The lower fromt a arms and lower rear radius rods take the most abuse on a RZR and are extremely notorious for getting bent up or ripped off. So you should put them on the list of upgrades if it was me.

Thanks much. I ordered the houser fronts. One more question. I just got the agency BOV and wanna get a decent air filter. Maybe the whole intake and all. Where should I start. What’s good to get. I drive on a lot of coal dust terrain.

Jason what tender springs did you go with? Happy with them from stock? It bothers me that the rears are all the way smashed from the factory. Seems useless to even have them. Looking for options. TIA

I went with the Allthingzutv (formerly RZRAID) and ordered the sky blue - they are close, but not an exact color match. Yes, they are an improvement over stock. I gained almost 2" in height (I backed off the preload as I didn't want more than 15" of ground clearance) and yes I can notice the ride is more plush. It's not night and day difference, but it is better and good enough for me - and the price is right. I'd would recommend them.

Install was fairly easy. I did not remove the top bolts on any of the shocks (but did remove the wheels to make getting to the shocks easier). I used spring compressors and backed off the preload to get the springs off and new springs on. Measure your preload before you do anything (I'd also measure your ground clearance front and rear) so you have two reference points.

Good luck!
