Well, i finished my doors!

I just have ONE word to say... I will not do that again... loll

After taking the pics, i took it outside in the snow and it is a nice feeling to have a warm cab with warm air at your feet and in your face.:)
There is absolutly no rattles, the doors close and open perfectly
Now, I can’t wait to go for a long ride now...

Here are the last pictures for this project.

So any chance of you sharing the part number for the moulding you used, i started looking on ebay and wow, theres alot of choices
yes i know there are many types, I ordered 5 different kind to do this whole project. The best advice i can give you is to start doing your own design and depending of you doors and gaps to fill, you order the right ones.
But most important of all, do like i did... be patient lol :)

Very nice craftsmanship man!

That turned out great, nice work. What thickness of lean did you go with?
If you're talking about the lexan, it is 1/8'' thick same as the steel frame around it so in case of an accident and needed to come out quickly, it is not to hard to just push on the whole window to get out since lexan is unbreakable. :ride:

So, have you gone on any rides since the you completed the windows?
Whats the cab noise like?
rattles?
Looks great... thanks for posting.

Yesss! went for a good ride and absolutly no rattle since everything is rubber gaskets against rubber gaskets. I also put behind the seats a 3/4 inch thick rubber foam noise insulation sheet with an opening for the intake air. That cuts the engine noise a lot !
The outside temp was 10f and in the cab around 55f with no fog in the windshield. Could almost ride without a coat :)
Very happy with it.

I used 1/8th flat stock and 1/8th lexan. Dot glass front windshield and 1/4 plexiglass for the rear window. :)

Cool I have a Emp cooler brown windshield and roof. As well as their soft rear window with the PA doors as well.
The 1/8" was stiff enough? I was going to use 1"x1/4" just because I have a bunch laying around.

I used 1/8 th flat stock for safety reasons since i use unbreakable windows (lexan) so in case of an emergency exit where the doors are stuck for some reason, i can just push hard enough to bend the frame out and get out easely. It is very cheap to buy and easy to work with.
Too bad for your PA doors since it was the worst job of all to do to close all the holes and gaps in them. If you can get other doors that are much more airtight, you would save a lot of time...

Good call on that. My windshield is only held on by 4 rubber quick disconnects, so I can always escape that way. I'd rather have the windows be more rigid I think. I don't think I will go for a completely sealed side. I have a firestorm heater on the way and am only looking to retain some heat and cut down on drafts. It's mostly for my little guy who rides with me. Plus here in NJ, we on your get a week or two of single digits or below on average.
Thanks again for the pics and write up, it is a big help in visualizing what I want to do.

My pleasure. This is what a forum is for, to share, learn things and sometime to vent out some frustrations of some badly done enginerings even if it displease some folks :)

Do the top of the windows hit or catch the bottom of the roof, when you open or close the doors?..... does that make sense?

nice job....I'm was thinking about doing the same thing. Hmmm....maybe a project for my hubby to tackle. :)
