Miles on your Turbo XP?

Thinking of going turbo, and curious to see what kind of mileage you guys have put on them with relation to how they're holding up?

I would love the extra power in the dunes, but I definitely don't want it to be a headache. With the engine combo I have now, I have no worries when firing it up that something will go wrong and leave me stranded. There's nothing I hate more than the feeling of owning a ticking time bomb.

So what kind of hours and miles have you guys put on your turbos? What's your confidence level like in your setup? I understand that the amount of boost and complimentary parts will play a role, but I just want to know in general what kind of reliability results you guys are having.

Thanks in advance -

I bet that setup gets from A to B pretty fast!

Milos thanks for the input. I think I'd be sticking to the mfg specs and go from there.

Any "must-have" turbo reliability parts that don't necessarily come with most turbo kits? I've read about the intake boots being an issue, any comment on that? It would be nice to address any possible issues before they actually arise..

The pro-star engine is proven a tuff engine. IMO, the weak point when running mild(10ish) to high boost(15+) is the valve springs. And if you pull the head for valve springs, you might as well do a set of low comp forged pistons. But if you stay low boost(5-9ish), you should be fine on bone stock engine for many miles. This goes for mostly all turbo kits. My 2cents..

You guys are killing me. Im digging a tunnell under a bank to get money for a turbo, pistons and valve springs!
Man you aren't kidding about that. Make the tunnel big enough for two

springs, pistons, race gas and crank the boost! Dane if you think low boost or 11psi is perfect for you.... dont even race it with someone running 15psi lol after 11 its gets really fun!
Ryan you're a tough and expensive friend to have, haha. How's yours been running? What did you do for the intake boots fix?

I want to turbo my xp so bad, but just don't want another nightmare like my last rzrs turbo. It spent most trips in the trailer, and the xp is doing so well... but I would love to smoke my xp buddies....lol... oh the humanity...

I'm at that point that I want to run pump gas with the turbo but lookin at the big bore cams and springs. Thoughts? To the original post keep the boost down you really shouldn't have any issues as long as you don't run it lean or get detonation. Make sure you have gauges and keep it in check and enjoy the crap out of the new found power!

I was going that route but was way more then a turbo and you can just run lower boost on pump gas. Ill bet the turbo faster. Just did mine way better then my 800 turbo Im very happy.
