Each build is custom and will vary depending on what options you want and what you pay for the Yamaha Apex sled.
If $15,000 to $17,000 doesn't chase you away, then contact Trey at MCX for more info. But don't call him for two weeks,,, he is busy!!! LOL
Keep in mind that like other engine swaps you can sell your old engine, ecu, clutches, ignition system, throttle body, intake, exhaust, and misc parts to reduce the final cost.

I was lucky and got a great deal on a sled that already had an MCX turbo kit on it. It was too good to pass up.

For those that haven't seen it, here is a picture I found on the internet of the Apex head.
The Apex is based on the same platform as the R1 street bike engine, but geared to work with a CVT.
998cc four cylinder with 3 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves per cylinder:

I am surprised that they are still using the 5 valve head the newer R1's and the new YZ450f use a four valve head because you can tune the combustion camber more

This a bit late in replying because I am working on these. But I do think they will be capable of all type of riding when clutched properly. All but water situations. I plan to use my on slow trails and rock climbing.
The one everyone rode in had close to 0 clutch work done. I think it had the wrong weights, wrong rollers, and wrong spring(s). When the clutching is worked on, it will be much more "tame" on the bottom end.

Gosh, I must have fallen off the Form, I had no idea that you guys were into this mod, where did you get the engines? Wow, I'm envious but will have to live this through your runs. Pat would disown me for even thinking about this,
