Did they test the Voltage regulator? Make sure there is nothing on that sound bar that is slowing draining the battery. Can you put a meter on the sound bar and see if there is any small amount of power still pulling from the battery?

 

Might be a dumb question but where is the voltage meter?

 

I have no idea what they tested to come up with low voltage. I had the ignition wire from the sound bar connected to the battery because I havent bought any more wire to run it to my acc connection up to the front. Just kinda weird it spent days connected without running, and then ran it all day Sunday. Then the next day driving up and down the road then all of the sudden I lose voltage while driving? The only place I can get a connection to the bar is right at the terminals.

 

The VR is on the driver side , rear wheel, square "fined" grey box attached it the floor pan

I would ask the dealer is they tested it, you could have bad one.

The VR keeps your battery charged, what's the voltage say on your speedo?

 

I never looked at the voltages when it set off a check eng light but when I was actually riding it on Sunday it was 12 something voltage. But I will check the vr tomorrow after work. I go back to work tomorrow and won't go on days off till next Wednesday , so I can't really go down and talk with the service guy at the dealership.

 

Should be running around 14-14.5 with engine running and accessories off. I rewired all of mine (stator and battery cables) and at idle I'm around 14.4-14.5v. With all my lights on I drop to 12.5-13v. If you are only seeing 12v running you have an issue. Stator, VR or battery.

All you have to do is start it, hit the button on the speedo till it reads the volts. You don't have to be moving.

If it reads under 13.8 ish you have an issue with the VR and or the battery.

 

I think I'm good now it was reading 13.8

 

Just a thought but maybe the voltage regulator got too wet when you washed the RZR. Those things are just too picky for me. I am ordering one to carry in my RZR when on long rides. I noticed some folks on this forum relocated the voltage regulator.

 

Could also be a lose ground, its worth cleaning that connection and making sure its got good contact to the frame.

You should see it to the right of the VR, down on the frame.

 

It might of gotten to wet. It took 3hrs to wash, it was super muddy. But I'll also check that ground to and make sure it's all good.
