Lose power after 15-20 min of riding.

So... most riding that i have been doing for the year are short runs slow. Moving the machine for yard work, snow plowing ect . a month ago i went on an actual trail ride and found that the machine is looking power after it heats up. Air cleaner is in good shape, i changed the fuel pump thinking that might have been it. No luck. Machine always studdered a little. But now it loses power after about 20 min of constant riding. Any ideas???

Im going to try and clean spark arrestor and TAP sensor. And pull skidplate and look for any vent lines that may be plugged. Seems ut started this after reinstalling skidplate. Although like i said you cat notice it if going slow. THANK YOU EVERYONE. ILL LET U KNOW HOW I MAKE OUT.

Keep ideas coming.

Im wondering if there is a vent that is plugged somewhere. I did not get to work on it after my last post. Spark arrestor looks pretty clean though. Walmart does not carry the Champion rc7yc3 Spark plug and there is no cross reference that i could find.

Negative. Been busy. Back into her last couple nights. Changed spark plugs. No help. Seemed to make it worse in fact. Now it stutters hard at the start. I pulled air intake sensor. Looks pretty clean. Any other ideas? i put my hand over the air intake and when it studders , it actually blows air back out at my hand. Open the throttle and smooth out and sucks lots of air. Exhaust pressure feels pretty strong. Any ideas? please help!

I would have bet fuel pump as well. I'd put the old fuel pump back in, just to make sure you don't have a bad replacement pump. After that, it sounds almost electrical, but if it isn't "moving" and it still sputters, then hmmmmm? I can't wait to hear the outcome of this one, cause I'm sure one of us will run into it at some point (knock on plastic).

If it was a full size car I'd say main bearings. Heat expanding closing clearances. But you will also loose oil pressure from that. Are you sure its not coming from the tranny? Does it feel like there is heavy resistance like the brakes are stuck? Then its most likely a bearing in the drive line. I agree with swingarm though check fuel pressure make sure the pump isn't bad.

Well i drained some oil out and put about 1/2 a quart of marvel mystery oil in crankcase. I put 1/2 that amount into a nearly empty gas tank as well as a full bottle of sea foam. Then i filled the tank. Took about 4 gallons and just let it idle for about an 1.5 hours Friday, and then about 1.5 hours on sat. the hesitation is gone warm or cold. I road it around yard for about 5 min and it seems perfect. But i did not have. Time to run it for any longer this weekend. So so far so good. Ill have to take time to give it a true test of the lose of power. I think its possible that crap/water may have dropped into cylinder head when i removed spark plugs( changed to ngk) after gunk. And pressure washing. I also noticed that my air intake "Ferco" style fitting between the emp. Intake and the throttle body was not connected as well as i left it when installing the emp. Certainly could have been picking up air there that would throw off the air flow sensor reading. i realligned and fixed up the gear clamps that hold that rubber fitting while i was in there. That may actually have been a big contributter to my problem. There was an oily black fluid on the intake side of the throttle body. Who know what kind of bad air got sucked in there. Im not going to change the fuel pump back out. I doubt it was faulty. Ill keep the original for a spare. I also went through the machine when the plastics were off. There is nothing pinched. So as far as i know its fixed but i won't really know until i get in it for a half hour or better. With hunting season around the corner, may not happen for a while. Thanks for all the help everyone. I will update after i get some hours on it.

Thank you so much for giving us a detailed description of what you did, like I said, somebody will run into this again. If you can, take a pic of your ride with all the plastic off. I've wondered what it would be like to run a "naked" RZR like a naked sport bike. Good call on self diagnosis...you kind of talked your way through this one...and glad it wasn't a big $$$ mess.
