I did antiseize on mine and haven’t had any issues. I would not want to try and beat an axle out on the trail.

 

The purpose is to stop any movement that could occur between the axle splines & hub splines.
Can only guess that Polaris determined wear could occur on these splines and that applying primer/Loctite would help reduce or eliminate the issue.

 

Under NO circumstances use Loctite on the axle splines! Quite the opposite, liberally coat the splines with Anti-seize.

 

I always just grease the splines real good and I've never had any issues. I do pull the axles every so often just to clean and grease the splines to keep them from seizing.

 

Polaris being so specific - for goodness sake don’t get it on the axle threads or castle nut- 😂. All of this should be removed from the manual. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Weird...Shop manual states anti-seize on front axle splines and the odd number loctite on the rear axle splines....nope... I put antiseize on the rear axle splines too..

 

Anti-seize, without a doubt. I made the mistake of doing what the service manual called out.............who ever wrote that should try to take it apart. Ended up costing me a new bearing carrier, and a lot of frustration.
