LED light bar specs and poll

I am not sure if this has been done yet or if there is a shootout on this. This is mostly as a reference for those that want to buy and not sure what is out there (me included). I have a few manufactures and if I left any out, I apologize.

There is obviously going to be a difference in price. The prices I located are mostly from the manufactures web pages. Since the majority have 30" LED light bars, I kept it at that size with a combo pattern (Spot/Flood) for lights. If some of the data is wrong or outdated, feel free to post it so its corrected. If there is something new, post it.

I have included make and model, Lumens, Watts, Weight, Amp draw, # of LEDs in the bar, $, and dimensions.

1) Rigid E-Series, 12,500 lumens, 120 watts, 8.85 lbs, 8.7A, 60-LED's $999.00 (31"L x 3-3/4"W x 3-1/4"H)

2) Totron DC series, 14,400 lumens, 180w, 11 lbs, 13A, 60 LED's, $325 +/- (32-1/4"L x 6"W x 7"H)

3) Baja Designs Stealth, 12,600 lumens, 126w, 5 lbs, ??A, 30 LED's, $849.99 (31.9"L x 3"W x 1.5"H)

4) Heretic, 19,500 lumens, 150w, 7 lbs, 15A, 15 LED's, $1249.00, (27"L x 2"H)

5) Visionx Xmitter Xtreme, 26,622 lumens, 270w, 14.5 lbs, 22.5A, 54 LED's, $1499.00 (30.2"L x 3.31"W x 3.75"H)

Hope this helps and I did it right. Thanks

As a near future purchaser... Very curious about the Vision X extreme as it puts out twice as many lumen as some of the others... could get the same results with a much shorter bar, which adds to the ease and placement of lighting... unless one is only concerned with the size of the bar and not its function........

ok ok.... here it is.... Thats what she said!:rofl3:

Marketing generally is what makes a product desirable. When you get equal or better performance from a product 1/3 the price of another. Yet the more expensive product is still in business is a very good example of an excellent marketing team.

Keep in mind that there is no real way to measure Lumens. It's an guess-timation based on the driving values of the LED used. Also assumed that the LED are driven 100%. But most companies like Rigid dont even come close to driving their LEDs to 100%. maybe 65% or so. So don't get all wrapped up in those values.

last post of the day, I have a Champions race for charity Saturday, I have to get the car finished and loaded... sooo...

I 'never' called anyone elses stuff anything, never said anything about the people buying it... never personally attacked anyone, or any product...

everyone else has attacked me, and thats fine... Im a big boy, big shoulders, no skin off my nose.

and I stand by my previous statement, Rigid all the way, there is no substitute.

have fun, stay safe, if you believe in your product, thats great... I know I do...

say what you like...:rzrflag:

Post-Purchase Rationalization (copied)

Remember that time you bought something totally unnecessary, faulty, or overly expense, and then you rationalized the purchase to such an extent that you convinced yourself it was a great idea all along? Yeah, that's post-purchase rationalization in action — a kind of built-in mechanism that makes us feel better after we make crappy decisions, especially at the cash register. Also known as Buyer's Stockholm Syndrome, it's a way of subconsciously justifying our purchases — especially expensive ones. Social psychologists say it stems from the principle of commitment, our psychological desire to stay consistent and avoid a state of cognitive dissonance.

I can undertand that to a point. If someone completely agree's with that statment why would you buy a rzr? Aren't there plenty of other options out there? some clone or copy from who knows where for half the money, its cheaper must be as good right? not trying to start a conflict but like i said each to his own. i have made some buys i have regreted later everyone has but spending money for rigid lights have never been a regret.

#34 ·
I've got a 30" totron on my XP4.. I didn't buy it cause it was the best out there.. I bought it cause it was a 3rd of the price of pretty much everything else out there.. I couldn't be happier with it for the price I paid.. I see absolutely no reason to drop crazy money on a light with a lifetime warranty on it. In a year or two that light will suck compared to the new standard and most will probably want a new one hell or a whole new machine so whats the point? Leds have been almost like computers.. Spend a crazy amount of money on one and a year later you can buy a better one for less money.. After a few years people will ask you why you still have that out dated thing.

When the time comes, Im going to go with the Heretic lights just because I can add more of them if I need them, they put out a ton of light, the bezels are interchangeable to different colors, and they look killer. Little more money but worth it. Not to mention I plan on doing their headlights, and hopefully soon, their tail lights. Just need a better stator to keep them all running...lol

Wow, still going :)

I just now caught up on this thread, the flight to the UK on Monday and the race this past Saturday have tapped me out for energy lately.

As far as the implied "buyers Stockholm" I've never actually giggled out load from a forum before, that was just great lol lol lol...

I've never, even for a millisecond, regetted buying any of my Rigid Industries products, I have them on all sorts of rides, stateside and at my other home in the UK.

Like I said before, Rigid all the way :). It's 449 am here, time for a nap lol

I would say there is exception to the rules. When somebody states that they have a home in the US and in the UK they are implying that they have enough money to piss away on anything possible. So at that point why not buy the most expensive anything when you purchase something.

Deep pockets blur practical thinking in my opinion and I wish I had blurry vision.

When I bought my Troton bar I was questioning the purchase. Until the first night ride I went on, since then i couldn't have been happier. That was 2 years ago and it still put out more than enough light for me.
I will say in Rigid's defense you can get amber cover or lens,
I haven't found one for the Troton bar yet. If there is a lens cover please tell me where I can get it.

#43 ·
lol, But in all honesty he has a point on price.. If something is not expensive to someone to begin with why would they regret it.. Most think 800-1000 dollars on a light makes them expensive. Plenty of guys think nothing of it.. I know guys who loose more money buying and selling toys in a year then I make in a year lol.. They could care less if they loose a couple grand here and there. I wish that was the case for me..

I've got the Vision X 30" extreme bar...it is almost too bright haha! I love it tho! Much brighter than my buddy's 36" rigid. I had a 30 tribal whips a couple years ago when I had my "s" but now that I've had a big boy light I would never go back. Not to take anything away from tribal whips, they make a good product for the money but it seriously doesn't compare to the light my vision x puts out.

[And your point being??? Or you just wanted to use bandwidth to air your ignorance?[/QUOTE]

Your right! thank you! I should be more carefull with my usage of said bandwidth.. I mean those jackass service providers have to be making at least a 500% markup right?

might not have a point, just thought a comment like that from someone with a 20k+ rzr was a little out there. You apparently like nice things, who doesn't? Nice things are normally a little pricey aren't they?

Your correct, nice things are always over priced. My point was that you cannot tell me that a Vision X or a Rigid light have that much more initial cost to build than say a Totron or other Chinese light. Myself and everyone I ride with here all have a Totron light and are perfectly happy with our $300 light bars. The same bar from Rigid or Vision X was easily three times the cost and not any brighter. Vision X and Rigid are only able to charge the prices they do because people are willing to pay it. Thats just the way the tech industry works. If you feel better buying a big name bar then do what makes you happy, we are content with our cheap ones currently.

#53 ·
My Vision X is worth every penny I paid for it to me...it was a lot of pennies but it has saved my rzr, and great bodily harm or my life. Most of the riding we do is at night, lots of high speed wash runs, tree trails amongst big rocks and cliffs, and lots of rock crawling. Stock headlights just don't cut it when you ride as hard as I do. And believe me you get what you pay for when you buy the expensive light bars.

#55 ·
If the chinese light bars were as good as vision x or rigid then they would have the entire market and would have put them out of business. Who in their right mind would pay 5 times the price for something of equal quality? I will say it again...you get what you pay for.

obviously a lot of people like your self.

all your paying for is the name, national advertising, and sponsorships.

your still getting the same parts.

They hardly seem to be the same parts...3 watt bulbs vs 5 watt bulbs casing and all electronics are different.

apples to oranges.

don't try to make it into something its not. a cree emitter is a cree emitter.

your getting the same parts. an aluminum housing, a basic board, with what ever brand emitter soldered to it, plastic reflectors, poly lens, etc etc.

yes some bars have the emitters driven a lot harder than others.

lets see, common sense says I would hope that a 270 watt bar would be brighter than a 180 watt.

that's vison x bar is also 3 or more times the money than a totron.
