It's been a while since Textron released the XX and Honda the Talon and I rarely see either in my neck of the woods. (Colorado/ Moab) On the other hand, just got back after a week in Moab and KRXs were everywhere! At times they seemed to outnumber XPs and X3s. Looks like Kawi has a hit on their hands. Nice job. I might have to replace the XP with one. Curious if others have noticed similar. (and where are all the Talons and XXs)

idk if its just the luck of the draw, but i normally ride with 17 other bikes on a normal basis in our local group and out of all the rides ive been on this year, the only 2 bikes that have had zero breakdown or parts break on the trails is the 2 KRX's in our group. They just seem to be extremely reliable and dont wear out parts like other machines. My buddy ben has a 2020 x3 turbo and its spent more time in repair at the shop than actually out on trails. He is already down 2 front differentials and 7 axles in a single year. The next most broken bike in our group has been the Talon R Honda, its been in for warranty work on the transmission 3 times now and they already replaced the transmission clutch packs twice due to them getting burned up.

Just got back from HMT in WV. Definitely more RZRs than anything else, but lots of KRX and quite a few Talons. That said, my buddy and I in my XP and his S1k absolutely smoked everyone else out there lol. We run fast and hard and came up on and passed everything from RZR570s to TurboS and everything in between. I don’t know why most of these guys even spend that kinda coin to fart down the trail. There’s no way a 72” machine could even try to keep pace with us in those trails (Rockhouse, Devil Anse, Buffalo). 360 miles in 3 days and nobody came up on us once. Just saying.

not everyone is into speed. some are there for the view the experience and to see the country, kind of hard to do at the speed you are talking about. Please remember the trails are for everyone, be patient, be courteous, and be glad you still have a place to ride. This year has been bad for atv, utv behavior on public lands lots of rude uncaring folks out there. This gives the non motorized folks ammunition to get us kicked off the land.

I'm beginning to see a lot more SxS brands outside of Polaris and Can Am on the trail. I used to question if the Japanese would ever catch up to North America in terms of engineering and design (their quality has always been at the top). However, I question how many purchases are due to the recent Polaris/Can Am supply shortages or has Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, etc. actually designed a SxS that can compete with Polaris/Can Am?

Finally got to ride with a few KRX 1000's. Yes they have less power than my turbo but they were running 35's with no mods. They have a better gearing and smoother take off when crawling even with the 35's. If you were just trail riding and rock crawling it is a great option. Maybe a 4 seater for me.

I drove a KRX for the first time last week here in the AZ desert. Hard to go from my XPT to the slow KRX but aside from the HP difference, the KRX felt better in every way. Power smoothness and plush ride are light years ahead of Polaris. I do agree with Max H though, the brakes did suck. Maybe I'm just used to my XPT's brakes.

Waiting to see what Honda does.

Honda to Exit the Lawn Mower Market

The statement from Honda Power Sports & Products said the company plans to discontinue production of lawn mowers at its North Carolina manufacturing facility in September 2023 and move all-terrain vehicle production there from its South Carolina facility. The South Carolina facility will "solely focus on Honda side-by-side production."

R&D and manufacturing dollar relocation. Going to be interesting in the next few years.

They may be coming down??? Or at least not going up!!
Our dealer in KY had 8 Black Pro R Ultimate 2 seater’s and about 20+XP Ultimate 2 seater’s and 12+ Ultimate XP4 seater’s on the showroom yesterday.
Few Turbo R 2-4’s
2-3 Pro R Sports.
And everything in between. I was really surprised to see all the R’s.
4 bangers everywhere!!

See more and more at Moab. Talking with one of the rental store owners and they have been switching to Kawasaki for the last few years. Less expensive to keep in service to be able to rent to customers.

As a business, it costs money to repair rental vehicles and get them back out for rental. He wanted those vehicles out on the lot ready to go. . . not in the shop being repaired.

He showed me the pile of Polaris clutches, control arms, prop shafts, ball joints and axles versus just one single KRX clutch and a couple axles.

Frame is another story. He said if he had a bent frame, he could order one from Polaris. If it was a Kawasaki, it was totaled. Can't buy a frame from Kawasaki. He had a stack of XP1000 bent frames.
