We have a 2018 rzr highlifter 4. Running fine riding it on the woods and the oil light came on. Something hit the dipstick tube and broke it off. Got it pulled back to house and ordered a new dipstick tube. Put about 1.5 qts of oil in and started it up and the top end at idle sounds normal. Give it a little gas and it’s rattling. I have extended warranty but local dealer is of no help. I’d rather just fix it myself. What should I check? Thanks.

I just got a 5 year warrenty with my xp1 and it sounds like I wasted my money from what I am hearing but any way did you get all of the dipstick out ? And how long did it run after it happened?

I took the piece that the dipstick goes into off and got it out. The whole tube was gone. No idea how the heck something hit it.

Would it be worth it to just replace the rod bearings? Would that sound like the top end? I’ve taken apart Polaris transmissions before but never a motor. Thanks

if its rattling I would tear down engine, if bearing has spun I would recd to replace crankshaft and rod as they are not serviceable. you will see the problem once torn down, if you have any questions give a call, I build at least one motor a week.

Thanks! I appreciate that. So this seems like it’s gonna cost about 1000-1500 is that accurate?

Just kinda need what parts are needed, if crank is bad you will be at that easy if you do your own work.

Ok thanks. One more question is there a good place to buy these parts? I seen quite a few places just wondering if one is any better than others. And any parts to upgrade while I’m in the motor?
