if there not those new type with thicker rubber, do yourself a favor and get bighorns. i had plugs in every tire with my terracross tires, in fact one rear had 17 plugs, the other 8.
For Terracross make sure you're ordering the "XD" version that came out last spring. It's molded right into the rubber so it says "Terracross R/T XD". Extra sidewall ply & tougher rubber compound.
i have the "new" XD tire, and i have probably 50 plugs in the tires. they pinch easy, and everything pokes a hole in the damn things. very regretful i have tires with 90% wear left but cant trust the tires to hold air through a camping trip...
its hard to beat rocky mnt. atv on tire prices they are allways the cheapest and you usually get free shiping if you spend more then $100 they have great cust. serv. too
Are you going to run spacers with them? We've sold tons of these tires and have had very few complaints with them. What type of terrain is everybody using them on the get that many flats?
No spacers. Future +3 going on it. Yeah I can't believe everyone has this much problems with these tire. Got me reall looking @ the Bighorns. I have 200 miles on my stockers and not a single problem. Is the Terracross that thin?
They're not a bad tire, i've had them on my personal machine for almost 400 miles. I had one problem when I was running them at 4 psi in the sand, I rolled the right front off the bead, but no flats so far.
i live in az. the cactus punctured them, the rocks punctured them. they are too soft or something. get bighorns and u won't regret, otherwise waste your money.
I have the GBC Dirt Tamers and have prolly 500 miles on them and dont have a plug on in them. They are much cheaper than the itp or maxxis tires. For general riding I think they are just as good as the others but I dunno if they make them anymore but they do make somethin similar and I think they are the grim reaper tire and they are 8 ply tires too. At least check em out.
Thanks for the suggestions. I would like to keep the business with guys from the board. They are here riding and helping us and answer questions. Whats 10-20 dollars to some guy on Flea bay if he is not on here answering our questions.
The Bighorn is about as close to a universal tire as you can get. Seems like most pictures I see of racers in magazines are running them. So either they finish races...or the teams get them for free :hihi:
I got the Terra XD because they were available in 26x11x12 and Bighorn wasn't. The XD is a little lighter and does great in mud. I've had zero problems but only have about 200 trail miles on them so far.
If weight isn't an issue for you check out the new GBC Grim Reaper tire. 8-ply!
i have 600 miles on my itp tera cross no flats no punchures and no plugs or slime been in rocks.....mud....sand.....snow low press high press jumping and not a prob.....
I have old version, no plugs, do alot of rock climbing, do have seal issues on rims, that is my fault for not cleaning them well when I installed, to lazy to reset, love the tire
