I’m thinking about putting an iPad in my RZR for a GPS. The thing keeping me from getting it is if I lose service would the GPS still work? How has everyone else’s iPad done out in the woods?

You don’t need cell service for the GPS to work, you don’t need a data plan either, just download the maps on WiFi if you need to before you head out.

A note about IPads... only the cell enabled iPads have GPS capability, as I mentioned above, you don’t need an active data plan, but only the cellular models have GPS capability.

That aside, they work great, I use a cheap Samsung tablet myself, but only because I got it free with my cable subscription lol, IPads work excellent as well.

I use AllTrails, I like it quite a bit, I pay for the pro subscription, but the free version is still pretty good

There's a whole GPS sub-forum, lots of good info there.
