OK, long story short. Bought a 09 RZR 6 weeks ago. started reading about all the intake issues and decieded to go with the KMS intake fix.

In the mean time my best friend buyes an 09 last Saturday and brings it over to my garage for all the upgrades, belts, shocks, wheels and tires. I also order him the KMS intake kit. They both arive today. I start on mine first. Everything goes fine until i go to but the stock boot back on the throttle body and it wants to slip off whenever i move the air box.

Now the fun starts, I happen to look at the 2 day old RZR and what do you know, the boots are different!!!!!

I pull his off and put it on mine just to see if it solves the problem.
and it works perfect!!!!

Tomorrow I call POLARIS and order the new boot.

The KMS kit works great have 3 other friends using it with zero dust in the intake.

I could RANT about all these intake issues, but i will leave that to you guys.

Boot on right is the old one and is 3/8 inches shorter than the new one!!!

While you were shittin in your diapers I was in Grenada getting shot at asshole. I got your punk. Move on. You've been in here all of 8 month's and you think it's your house. If you'd like to continue to disrespect me, vince, maybe we can have a heart to heart literally down in brooks? You think you can pop off behind a computer screen. I hope you don't choose to learn the hard way when to shut up.

I think by the looks of my garage you can tell i've spun a few wrenches in my day. OK here is the Low down on the KMS intake.

I completly removed the bed so i could get a good look at how this is going to work. Bottom line when the engine rotated during accelartion the ridged stock boot from the air box to the throttle body would leak. Yes this is a bad thing.
Now for the KMS issue. you have a rubber boot from the throttle body(A new one that now flexes) to a round piece of billet aluminum supplied by KMS. on the other end you have a K&N filter with an outerwear. Weather you like K&N is a different fight,I for one have used them for 20 years or so and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM.
Of the 3 other guys using the same system 2 dont even put the cover on the air box. 2 are 2007's with over 100 hours since they put the kit on and one 2008 with around 40 hours on it. Now let me say all this time is in Glamis and it can get somewhat dusty there. NO DUST IN THE INTAKE.
Do the Complete replacement systems work, yes they do. Does the KMS system work. Only if installed right and you change to the new boot. Oh and on the boot subject, I called Polaris TECH SUPPORT from the dealer and a new boot will be here Monday. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RUBBER BOOT SUPPLIED TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT A rzr!!!!!

One more issue while i'm on my soapbox I love this SITE and how it can help maxamize our time and enjoyment in this sport we love. I think we need to take a long look how we treat each other. If i was the site webmaster both you guys would have been GONE.

Nothin in the world like carvin through the dunes on a nice sunny day
