Installing non-kit LED turn signals Question

I'm going to be installing LED turn signals on my 2012 RZR 900 XP. My piece together kit includes the on-off-on rocker switch, (4) clear Amber front and (2) Red LED's rear. 2 small green status LED's. My question is what type of flasher should I get and how is it best wired in?

If someone could direct me to a prior post on this or PM me, that would be much appreciated.

What you will want to find is a electronic flasher that is rated for LEDs available at most autopart stores. Like the tridon ep37. It will have 2 terminals marked X and L the X will connect to your 12v+ and the L will connect to the center of your three position switch. Your left and right lights will come off the other 2 terminals. This flasher will flash at the same rate no matter what the load is.

Thanks Jimmy!! And if I wanted to make hazard lights work, could I come off of the same flasher with a SPST switch to all LEDS?

As far as ground wires, do you think it's better to loop all grounds together to a single good ground point? Thanks again.

Thanks Swing arm. Yeah that would seem to be better for trouble shooting a bad lamp down the road. I was going to use trailer lamp wire and it has a ground built in, so figure I would just take to the same spot.

You would actually have to use a double pole single throw for you hazard flashers. Because you would have a electrical connection between your left and right if you used a single pole. And when you went to use your turn signal the left and right would flash.you would feed both poles of the switch with the same 12v as your turn signal on the load side of the flasher and then to the left and right off of the separate pole of the switch. Hope this helps. Jim

I am really lost when it comes to electric but here is my question. I want to put turn signals on my 2011 and think that having hazards would be a good thing to have as well. I don't know which to go with weather to use led or regular bulb type? Also I would like to had a backup light and front additional light. Which would you suggest for this? Hids or Leds, I question the battery and the starter to handle this. I appreciate your time with this in advance. Oh yea where would you suggest to get some of these things.

I apologize for not replying sooner I been out of town deer hunting. If you have any problems with your install just let me know. I'm always glad to help. I live in central Ohio also so I could give you a hand if you don't feel comfortable with something. As for your question I prefer led over incandescent . I bought 4 inch round 18 watt led lights off eBay and have 2 of them installed for back up lights( major overkill )and 2 facing forward in addition to HIDs in my stock headlights. Jim

by any chance do you have the part list or who you got the parts from. Having a little trouble finding a small enough lenses as the turn signal. I am thinking of drilling my rear brake lights to add the turn signals. On the front I was thinking of using something small. What did you use. Do you have any pictures?

Henry,

Thanks! I am going to get on this, this weekend. I have been told that Ohio is not every going to allow RZR's to be street legal, so I am just goint to do everything that they require for a golf cart and just mind my manners when I am in the neighborhood. This is going to help a lot. Thanks again.

No big deal, hope you got one from the stand. I am still getting all the parts together to do it. I am hoping to be able to get to it after the holidays and things tend to slow down a bit. Thanks again for all your help and will be in touch for sure.
