I need help with windshield purchase

I have a 2016 S 900. With winter around the corner I want a windshield. I ride mostly in West Virginia along the Hatfield-McCoy trails. I would not use it in summertime except for rain. Thus, I am thinking a good windshield that folds down is what I need. However, I want one that is going to be easy to install and of good quality. Also, I have noticed online that some fold down all the way, while others have hinges that even when down, still have several inches of windshield that stay intact. I would prefer a windshield of this variety as I think the part that stays up would help prevent being flooded with water over the hood when hitting deep water.

On the Polaris website for the S 900 there are only two flip down windshields offered. The first has a part number of Item #2881616. This one is listed at 399.99. The other one is listed at 599.00 as is called Three Position Windshield. It does not appear to have a hinge, just folding all the way down. I'm wondering why this one is 200 bucks more.

Does anyone have either one of these windshields, or can anyone recommend a good fold-down? Quality is of the essence.

Thanks.

I have the Moose fold down that works very well, I trail ride with it either removed or folded down in summer, nice to have when unexpected rain comes. When out on open areas and at night it keeps bugs out. Only issue I had was water blowed in between sections, I installed a thin piece of weatherstrip and cured that problem. Lots of airflow when folded down, just like having a half piece.

RyFab all day. I have the fold down windshield, roof, rear shield and cargo box.

Incredible craftsmanship and the fits are perfect. You won't regret paying the extra $ for Ryfab quality.

My dad has the Isota windshield on his XP1000 and loves it. They're extremely well built. I'd definitely go glass over any plexi, lexan, or any other material. I've had plastic half windshields and they're a pain to clean properly (especially in the field) and they scratch easily.

If you're gonna put a windshield on I'd suggest installing a rear window also. Without it the front causes a "vacuum effect" drawing in dust and what not in from the rear especially at higher speeds. Just my .02 cents. Also x2 on going with the glass. Much easier to keep clean and scratch free.:icon_thumleft:
