I took off the top lid but how do i get off that new air filter to clean it ? The old one was just foam and it sit on top. And when i get it off what do i clean it with ? i have the foam cleaner spray buy that wont work on this paper filter will it ?

just pull it out .... you can knock the dirt off of it .. or blow it off with compressed air lightly or replace it

Ok so it just pulls off and then push it back on ? how long should a filter last on normal trail and some sand riding last. so because it paper now and not foam do we ever spray any cleaner on it ?

It has to be replaced....there's no cleaning a paper filter other than a light amount of air pressure if it's just a bit dusty. The new 170 air filter system is better, but not as good as a dual foam filter and an outerwear.

I need to replace my daughters air filter, super dusty this week end, and like was mentioned no cleaning paper.
Do any of you have a part number for a twin-air or K&N replacment for the new style ( round filter ) for the 170.

When I was researching air filters I came to the conclusion that paper is the best filter of particles particularly dust. The oil filters (foam, etc.) may flow more (even that is debatable) but the paper does the best job of removing small dust particles.

Colby over at C&D told me he could get a UNI filter for it, but he did not give me a part number.
