How to Quiet a Polaris Roof

I was amazed at @SNWMBL milling down the latch to the air cleaner area to keep it from rattling. The roof that came with my '17 XP 4 1000 rattles so badly I'd never even hear that latch. I'm wondering if the previous owner took some short cuts or left something out with the roof install. Or is that just the way they are? If so, any suggestions for quieting it down?

Remove roof and add weather stripping to the top of the bars. Then reinstall the roof

What he said^^^ my 2020 Turbo S came with weather stripping between the roof and bars, no squeaking or rattling.

I threw a soft top on. Much quieter.

I have an aluminum roof on a XP4 and I used the weather stripping and it does not make a sound. My Ranger does not have it, and it rattles like crazy! I need to take it off to fix, but don't want to run all the wiring again...

Exactly. Dealer did a shite job on mine, I redid and it’s dead silent.

I added weather stripping (there was none), and it silenced the thing. A completely different riding experience.

Add a ton of heavy duty thick zip ties in additional areas to reduce flapping on the soft top. takes out all the extra noises.
