Man am I confused on the HID lights.
I see prices from $50.00 to $500.00 and they all seem to be the same 35 watt with 600K bulbs.
Is there any difference in these besides some made to plug and play in the RZR and some need wiring and what size bulbs, my head is spinning!! someone help!!!

They are pretty much all the same. The super cheap ones seem to have a hard time igniting sometimes, but they work just fine especially for the price. They just seem to be a little more voltage sensitive than the ones that are a little more. The super expensive ones are making someone A LOT of money!

My advice would be to go with a manufacturer that you can trust and that you know/feel will offer good customer service and product support.

If you want a really good HID, I'd recommend HELLA and ACRO Lights. But you're going to pay good money for them, $400 +/ea.

If you like gambling, get some of the cheap HID's from Kragen / O'reilly. They cost about $125/ea.

Most HID lights are 35 watts, and the typical color temp is 6k. However, ACRO Lights makes their HID lights in a color temp of 4k, which I sort of like better, it's easier on your eyes, IMO.

I'll be happy to talk to you about if you want, just give me a call: 702-943-0784 (Russell). I WON'T try and sell you on LED, but I can give you a lot more advice and food for thought.

Good luck. You should get a lot of advice from everyone here, too.

several of us went to the spring jamboree at windrock in tennessee...
a bunch of vender's were there.
one vendor was selling hid light kits for a "SPECIAL JAMBOREE" price $225.00 installed.

they were selling like hotcakes.a guy riding with us had a new 2009 rzr. he bought a set.

after we got home i bought a set for $49.00 off of ebay and installed them myself.they look just like his. he was pissed he spent so much money.

as far as quality i`ve ran mine ever since with no problems...mudd

This topic comes up a lot. DDM tuning 30 bucks.. 39 Bucks for slim line ballast. You want 880 bulb.. I've seen 3-400 dollar sets and they don't seem any better. Most of that stuff is all made in china anyway and just branded with different companies.

For now until I get the new roll cage I just want the replacement for the stock head lights.
I notice a world of difference between my stock lights and the HID replacement light on a friends Rhino and Terex.

It's hard to spend $200 on those when they seem to be available for a fraction of that. Someone else suggested Side x Side Customs (Endie), and I think that's a good choice, or at least a place to begin. His kit allows you to select between 35 and 55 watts, which others don't. And by all accounts, he provides really good service.

I have the DDM raptor 880. They work great. The customer service is non existent. That is where SXS shines. Bilinvic did a thread on the DDM kit install. It is easy. If you want plug and play and someone to answer the phone and your questions call SXS. It will be worth the extra bucks for the service provided.

I run the ddm ...................... they were plug n play on my car. I'm all about supporting the vendors that support us but there is a line were I have to look out for my wallet 1st. These cars are expensive enough with all the add ons that we all need. I want to save $100 bucks where I can and the HIDS is where I choose to save it.

I also run the DDM Tuning 35W 6000K HIDs. Work great. Huge difference from the stock bulbs. This is one of the biggest improvements you can make cheap. Installation is super easy. You only have to switch the plugs from the kit with the factory bulb plugs. Small screwdriver and you are done. $30.00 for the Raptor kit with a lifetime warranty.

My DDM slimline kit came with wiring to make them plug and play...but it is just wires with spade connectors to hook up to the stock wiring not good for an offroad vehicle. It isn't that hard to take off the stock Polaris connector and install the DDM one on the stock harness...I woudn't even call it modifying JMO.
$65 shipped for 55w slimlines...I'll swap connectors all day long lol. I have ran some of the high dollar kits in the past...and decided to take a chance on a "cheap" kit this time and so far I am thrilled I did...so far it operates as well as any kit I have bought and looks better than many that are much more expensive. Granted you can't tell everything by looks, try running HIDs on a Can-Am ATV and you'll see that....those machines are PICKY about HIDs...they will shut the whole bike down lol. I've only found one company that sells a ballast that will work on them without a relay kit....Eagle Eye.
But never the less I was impressed with the look and feel of quality for the money with the DDM slimline ballasts.

For the guy who couldn't find them on the DDM site...google "DDM Raptor" and it will be the first one...then you just choose wattage, bulb(880) ect.
If you want slimline go to the "shop by brand" drop down and select DDM then scroll down after the page loads, near the bottom on the right.

I bought the DDM with the slim ballast. Once I realized that all I had to do was swap the stock wire connector with the one in the DDM kit, the kit was a breeze to install. I bought one of the plug-n-play for my rzr s, had I known then what I know now, I would have gone with the DDM kit then too. Plug-n-play is nice, but in this case, swapping the connector ends and saving myself $100, was well worth it.

My 35W conversion kit is still blinding oncoming riders so it would be way more useful for an adjustable kit to dim down to close to stock--probably 20W level would work great, maybe even less.

Man I would jump on an affordable kit with 20/35W output that used a normal hi/lo headlight switch instead of an unsealed control box. I want it to look as factory as possible and hi/lo headlights are way up on my list of "wants".

Sure no problem just advance us 20K (ruff number may be +/-) for R&D costs. Beside we have sold many of our kits and have not had one return on the controler, we give you a rubber cover to protect it form the elements.
