Re: Hawk Engineering XP Z1 DIY kit is getting started

Hey Hawk,

The XP Z1 Conversion looks awesome!

You guys do some really clean conversions. That Z1 motor on E-bay is a great price... Especially with such low hours. Somebody is going to get a great deal...

Keep posting the great pics..

Re: Hawk Engineering XP Z1 DIY kit is getting started

I just finished up the XP Z1 early this morning. We are loading to go the Off Camber Rock Rally at Cloud 9. Here are a few pictures. Also about 90% done with the clutch cover. I am REAL HAPPY with how it has turned out!

The cage is temporary until I can get a nice one made. Question, what color do I make the cage when we get back next week? Orange or Blue???

That looks sweeeeet! On the cage I would go orange to match the trailing arms and stuff.

Yes air to air would be easy to do as well. Working out the details on price for the kit. Get that updated Monday.

Re: Hawk Engineering XP Z1 DIY kit is getting started

Great Jason, just couple Q.'s if I can.
After my headache with kit where turbo was mounted to the frame, is the turbo mounted on the engine and move with it ?
The harness, I assume you will modify the Z 1 harness to will plug in to the RZR system ?
And last, I rather will go with air to air, do you plan to offer this option or will be possible to buy the kit without the air to water parts and figure out the piping after install ? Or do you think the turbo location will make this hard to do ?

Turbo is mounted on engine. This way it goes where the engine goes so to speak. The muffler floats with the turbo by using the stock muffler hanger mounts.

I can make a harness to run the Z1 with gauge cluster on the dash. Or I can tell you what wires need to be connected and use the stock rzr harness for the dash stuff. I like to keep it clean and remove rzr harness. Then run a sub harness for the dash stuff.
The way I have the turbo setup would be easy for air to air and will take off the air to water option.
