Has anyone had CV axel problems with tires bigger than 28's. I have heard of a few people having the problem I was wondering if it is a big problem or if it is just the peoples fault.

I broke a couple stock rear CVs but I haven’t broke the gorillas yet.
I did tear the boots all to hell this last race. It was just a little ruff.

ive been a kawasaki guy until now, im seriously thinking about getting a rzr.. are they THAT easy to break, or is just from really hammering on that throttle? and do you think with a 2" lift and some 30" silverbacks, the gorilla axles will hold up? i guess what im asking is whether its the angle of the joints when lifted (short a-arms im sure on a machine this narrow), or just bad quality cv's...

i ride with a few sportsman 800's, they were really hard on the stock axles for some reason also. ive even seen them pop a few gorillas in the same stuff im still hitting with stock axles (same tires as them, 29.5's)..

i gotta brute force 650 that i never ride anymore...great machine but i like the rzr better... its not that the rzr is weak....you just ride it alot harder than you do a four wheeler.

I am currently tearing into my rzr right front. When I turn to the right the cv joint area makes a thumping grinding sound. The cv hub rubs against the axle on a turn and has made a scallob wear pattern on the axle. I don't know if this is normal, but I don't think it should. The ty rod looks straight. Have you got an idea.

That does not sound good. My ty rod broke out of the hub all at one time. It sounds like yours is definately broke and needs to be replaced. Mine was covered under warranty. The drive shaft was approx. $500 plus labour. I have read that the gorilla shafts are very durable. I think this is a serious problem or a design defect where there should be a recall on them. My other ATV's could handle alot more abuse than this one. Best of Luck AC_RZR

My drivers side front inner cv were it slides into the splines has an excessive amount of slop in it about 1/4". Is this normal? Its been leaking a little just like the passenger side rear seal. I replaced the rear seal with the orange one and no more leaks it too has some play in it but not as much as the front one. What do you guys think, is the front gear case bad?

I'm currently replacing both inner and outer rt rear cv's. I'm certain the noise I'm hearing is a cv, though not sure. I cleaned out the outer first and did a good inspection, as well as can be expected, and all seemed to look good. So, for piece of mind, I'm replacing both cuz it sucks trying to clean out the greese in those darn things.:wall:

I recently pulled and cleaned my rt. rear outer cv. There are some nasty type of grumbling/popping to rt. rear of rzr, usually in a turn or transitioning a dune. The cage looked fine, though decided to go ahead and replace both gear and wheel side cv's for peace of mind. any one know which is most likely to go out? I have a Fireball +6 LT kit, stock wheels flipped, which I know is hard on the outers. thanx

I run the 7" gorilla lift with the gorilla axles with 31" outlaws. The stock axles no way will handle the big tires. The gorillas work well but i have broken 3 of the 4. I have recently gone to turner cycle axles and can not break them at all. They run the same price just alittle longer wait to get them. Dont get me wrong the gorillas are good but they can be broken. Hope this helps and good luck.
