sounds like you need to rebuild your clutch or just buy another one

 

When not running does it shift ok?

If so most likely your primary clutch bearing is going out...

Second cause could be miss adjusted belt alinement

If it shifts hard not running trans problem

 

My brand new xp4 is difficult to shift sometimes. I just went out to check when it is not running and it wouldn't come out of park.

Please tell me I don't have to take it in for service already. The damn thing only has like 5 miles on it.

what clutch did you replace ? The primary or secondary ??

 

Mine starts to shift hard from time to time. I lube the cable and shifts smooth as silk

Is it parked on a hill at all? If the machine is in park and it has weight on the transmission it will be hard to get out of park.

That's what I originally thought but right now it is parked in my garage.

 

Can you sit in it, rock back and forth
To make it easier to get out of park? If not you may have a bent shifted link or arm.
