Going up in the mountains

I live in Oklahoma and plan on taking my family and RZR to Colorado this summer and heard I needed a programmer to set the computer for the altitude or it wouldn't run right. I figured with the fuel injection it would compensate for the lack of air. Can anyone help me out with some advice?? It's a 2012 RZR-4 800.

your ride will run just fine how it it,
especially with the electronic ignition nothing needed to do or adjust on a stock rzr

Ok that's good news because I can't find a programmer for a 2012 yet. Would it still be ok with an after market exhaust?

Shouldn't be an issue I run mine from below sea level to 9,000 foot level with no obvious issues.

That is the joy of having a computer controlled fuel injected system, it automatically corrects for altitude and mixture.......

Had my stock unit at 11,400' in Utah, run like a top. I, on the other hand, struggled.

you will lose hp, but the rzr will run fine, just wont have quite as much "gusto"
