I thought we were talking about the small ring that snaps around the shaft until OP posted the pic. I would still try a driveline shop.

In the same Ranger days, I had a few axles pull apart during removal, the boots would be fine but of course you have to remove the boot to put the CV back together. Got sick of paying Polaris $30 a boot kit for essentially 2 CV bands. Of course the bands were a specific size and design for Polaris so Google was no help. Took awhile but I got ahold of rep with Oetiker that manufactures the bands and they sent me 10 of ea size. They didn’t even charge me because they couldn’t sell them, they had to be labeled “experimental”.

Point being, the manufactures want you to buy the entire CV joint or a boot kit just to get a band, it’s ridiculous. May have to find the manufacturer of the retaining rings and get a hold of a rep.
