Front Drive Shaft Noise/Vibration

Thought I'd start a new thread on this topic, the old thread was getting long.

The front end vibration/noise seems to be caused by the front driveshaft. My XP1k is in the shop being fixed right now. Two vehicles before me have been fixed, one was fixed with a new driveshaft delivered directly from Polaris, and the other was fixed with re-clocking the splines.
Unfortunately, they tried to re-clock my front driveshaft and the problem did not go away. Inconsistent results using the same procedure. They then tried another driveshaft they had removed from an earlier unit. They installed that driveshaft on my rig using the new clock position. This did not make my vibration go away. Polaris instructed them to remove the front driveshaft completely and test drive it. The vibration went away, which is what everyone expected. Polaris engineers just wanted confirmation before they sent a new known good driveshaft to the dealer for installation on my unit. The new driveshaft arrives today and we should know soon if that fixes the issue.

It seems to me that the variability in results using this new clocking procedure means they are going to be replacing a lot of driveshafts. My guess is, they will instruct the dealer to try the clocking procedure, and if the problem doesn't go away, they will send them a new driveshaft.

Any vibration in the front driveshaft will result in a pre-mature front pinion bearing failure.

If you feel you have an issue with the driveshaft - Get it repaired or one may suffer more extensive damage down the road.

Don't want to address -- At the very least install a driveshaft safety hoop.

I dont guess this is a issue with mine. I dont feel any vibration and as far as noise, can you hear it over the wind noise at the 20-30mph range? I cant hear anything so I am guessing mines good to go? I wish they would find a serial number break, or a lot number or group to identify if your unit should be checked. I guess until I hear or feal anything out of the ordinary I wont sweat it.

For anyone experiencing this problem, it has become well known that the issue is with the driveline being unbalanced. Many if not all of the machines come that way. I have a 2015 1000 that came with a way out of balance driveline.

Probably the cheapest solution is to send your driveline in to a shop and have it balanced for only $90. Check this thread for shop info if you don't have a driveline shop near you. : http://www.rzrforums.net/rzr-xp-1000/130011-xp-1000-owners-check-your-driveline-81.html

Well the gen 2 looks easier to install
Wait for the gen 3
Should be out in 2 months
No GEN3 we just couldn't keep up with demand on our original design so we went with billet so we could keep up.
Sounds good, before I purchase and set aside 4 hours for install (I'm slow when installing new things). Are any special tools required?

A puller n press r recommended but a hammer can be used instead lol full instructions come with it honestly not that bad

I pulled my driveline and had it re-phased, balanced and put in the Sandcraft bearing....I now have zero vibration/shaft noise when in AWD. The bearing is top quality and I was on the fence about getting it but honestly removing the driveline was a pain and I did not want to do it twice.
