When I stomp the gas In 2wd the front diff will engage. Polaris says that it is normal that if I know I'm going go be spinning much to go ahead an put it in 4wd! I like to drift and that's bs. Is there a fix to this or does everyone's do it? Mine didn't do it at first and now at 150 miles it does it everytime. Any suggrstons ?

I have heard of the 14's doing this but not on the '15 yet. Which do you have? I read yesterday Polaris changed the front diff for the '15 and I am wondering if it was to solve this issue.
My 14' just started doing this yesterday...guess I'm going to have to tear it apart. I've never had to tear into anything like this. Are there any seals or other things I should replace while I have it apart? Anything I need to pay real close attention to?
I would also like to know exactly why Polaris changed the differential (if this is indeed so beyond the sprague 'mystery') and what parts are involved (if you are somebody who simply replaces everything wear-related) 'if any' in doing the spring pin replacement.

Thanks.

The pin in the diff is broken when it does that. Most likely it had also junked the carrier. I have 14 year models that have the aluminum carrier, they say the 15's have a plastic one on the early models. Idk if Super Atv had the replacement for the 15 yet. Hope it's still under warranty bc if you have to buy a polaris one its expencive...

My early 15 started doing this at 63 miles. The plastic carrier had busted completely. I actually broke it on the second ride I did with it, but didn't realize it until the third ride.

About 30 miles later it was making all sorts of noise and randomly engaging/disengaging. I bought a replacement 2014 differential and swapped it in.

Took it apart and yep, destroyed. The housing is still good though.
