cars and trucks also have a item called pending codes if this code pops up 3 to 5 time then it will set a check eng light... but if it intermitantly sets a code but goes away it will not turn the light on.... alot of cars have pending codes but id bet you dont have a way to check to see so unless your light comes on you dont worry...same thing goes for the rzr if the light comes on it says something isnt right... but a stored code is just a tool to look at...

Do you have the code 26 too, YES or NO ?

Why do you keep posting your assumptions here unless you have facts you got right from Polaris with all due respect just BUTT OUT I am tired of you trying to sway people with your baseless ideas and assumptions, ITS NO HELP, you do this all over this site in many post if you look at the BIG PICTURE most the time you give REAL BAD advice, I know I am not the ONLY member of this site that feels this way about you, yeah their has been plenty of talk about your advice and replies like you have put here.

Were looking for a cure to the problem IF you feel the need to be involved and help then contact Polaris and get the problem resolved your replies like you just made are 100% worthless and just add to confusion.

I don't expect my $50,000 Duramax to operate like my computer. That being said, if there was a "Ghost Code" showing a CEL code on my truck, and it wasn't causing any issues related to performance or longevity, I'd have a little faith that GM would fix it eventually, and issue a fix. (That's what the warranty is for after all...) What I wouldn't do, is drive it to my dealer and leave my $50,000 truck for months on end and cry every day on the internet that I couldn't use it because GM couldn't figure out a solution to a "ghost problem" that doesn't effect every day drivability.

That's my .02 cents...

The code 26 thing has been going on for what 6 months?

Exactly how long shall you suggest we give Polaris to fix the problem they created?

Is the problem so complicated they cant figure it out in 6 months?

If we had a point of contact to get answers it sure would be nice, calling my dealer is a total waste of time his answer to everything so far has been "drive it until it quits" someone have Polaris number I can call?

Just spoke with a nice woman at {800-765-2747}, Polaris claims to have no information on code 26 and refused to let me speak with tech support.

She claimed that the dealer has access to tech supports phone number and the dealer will handle all repairs.

we will see if this gets fixed.
at this point I should have kept the rhino... it had 200+ hours with no runs, no drips, no errors...
Thanks for the number I called Polaris talked to a 'guy' didnt get a name, real nice guy, he read me a correspondence between a dealer and their tech service, not telling you guys what he said I suggest you call if you want to know, bottom line is their is no answer, nobody can say if its a problem or not or if their is a fix coming or not, I get the impression the ONLY paper trail they have on the code 26 issue is ONE DEALER CONTACTING THEM, he had no other info, 'fix pending' or 'this is not a actual problem' or 'tell customer to ignore this code' NOTHING.

He suggested I contact a different dealer and see what they say so I will, he suggested maybe if they hook up to the ECM and take readings it might suggest what the problem is.

I think were at square one with this, I dont think anybody has taken ANY ACTION to resolve the code 26 at all, nothing the guy I talked to indicated their was more than one report of the code 26 problem, their is no indication anybody is doing anything that has to do with a fault code.

He agreed the code 26 was put in the system for a reason it was not put their to tell you everything is ok keep running the machine as normal it was deigned into the system to notify you their is a problem, NO CODES and only no codes would indicate everything is ok continue to operate it as normal..

Again number I called is {800-765-2747} keep in mind the guy is a desk jocky a customer help guy he is no tech guru most he can do is look in his computer for the code 26 and see whats been said about it in the past and search for recall notices or service bulletins.

Thanks again for the number...

Per the guy I talked to on phone at 800-765-2747 I called another local dealer talked to the service manager they never heard of the code 26 problem, made a appointment for them to look at it and hook it up to their computer to see what it says as suggested by the Polaris help line guy, taking it in on the 14th.

Yup sure will, I found it odd Polaris guy had so little info on what seems to be a wide spread known problem.

Well I can understand nexusfires frustration. We both have been running into these code problems. I will be more than happy to teach nexusfire the correct way of handling the dunes once we get these codes taken care of. John one more thing... the peddle to the right is the gas....

Put an older ecu in and all is good.78rwhp BTW.:)

I removed the plug from the sensor on the transmission and reinstalled it and the problem went away.....200 miles and no code 26. must have been a bad connection

Had a new ECU put in and reprogrammed. All my codes are gone except for the code 26. Seems that a new ECU didn't help this problem. However, there is no performance issues now.

So what did they say about the code 26 still being their?

'were too dumb to figure it out' :rofl3:

I was told when the wheel speed does not match the RPM its kicks out the code 26, like when the belt slips, I can clear the code then go out on hard pack dirt or dry grass and floor it from a standing stop, the rear tires dont spin, this is a conditin that could make a belt slip after 5 times no code 26, then I drive it like grandma on flat ground never going past 1/2 throttle and 40 mph then it kicks out the code 26, come on Polaris just say it you guys dont have a clue, its ok to say "I dont know" whats not ok is ignoring the problem and blowing smoke up peoples back side after you took their $14,000.

After talking to 3 different dealers about the Polaris and how they do business its clear to me Polaris is a joke, after talking to 3 service managers and 2 mechanics its clear to me Polaris has created a culture between the dealership and corporate, their is some real tension between dealers and corporate, no doubt I just happen to talk to the only 3 dealers in the world that feels this way..

When you get a chance call that 800 Polaris number and ask them to check your serial number to see what the dealer reported to corporate about your RZR, I found out dealer ONE never called Polaris and reported my code 26 problem they also didnt report my air filter problem they also didnt report the oil out of my transfer case looking like aluminum paint, dealer number Three said dealer ONE was a bunch of lazy asses they are suppose to report it to Polaris so they can trend problems, now I understand why when I called 800 Polaris why the guy only seen ONE report of the code 26 seems their was only ONE dealer that took the time to send the report to Polaris, I see one heck of a circle of stupid in the system even the guy I talked to at dealer three felt he was wasting his time reporting it to Polaris because the PROBLEMS will fall on deaf ears.

Hoser, what did you think of the Polaris tech guy's answer on the other site about the ECU looking for a sensor that wasn't there?
