Looks incredible Bob...well done. I'm heading down to the Oregon Dunes on Saturday with both of my RZRs...I'm hoping my kids rear swing arm will last the week, but if it does go, I hope it's on the last day...then I'll have a good excuse for the wife to get this new swingarm from you!!!!

I like how you bubbled the UHMW skid...does this give the rest of the swing arm a little more ground clearance?

Sucks to have a trip ruined by a broken machine, that's for sure :rm_thumbdown:

Yes the idea behind the bubble is improved ground clearance which the 170 needs badly. Looks pretty cool too :)

Have a great trip, I've been itching to get back up there for a ride, that area is one of my favorites.

Wow, that looks great Bob. We can't wait to pick up our son's 170 from your shop and go riding on the new swing arm. After breaking our factory swing arm for the 2nd time this last trip to the Oregon Dunes, this will be an exciting/well needed upgrade. Another great product from Factory UTV!

Would love to buy one as well, but not for a broken down machine on vacation!!!

I was comparing your swingarm photos to my OEM swingarm....can I assume the chain tension is set by the heim rod ends? The more I look at your photos, the more impressed I am!

One of UHMW's best traits is it's ability to slide over rocks. My nephews who drive our 170, drive pretty aggressively for sure and have gone places in ours that surprised the heck out of me. Several times we've done rides where we planned to have one of us turn back to camp with the 170 when the trail got to rough only to see them bash the whole way through.

It's very easy to adjust, just pull back to where you think it should be, then snug the bolts. Take a measurement from the heim bolt to the carrier bolt (see picture) on both sides and adjust make sure they are the same and tighten to correct torque specs. We were going to put register marks on the carrier, but the disc and caliper made it almost impossible to see them on the passenger side. This was the most practical solution for adjustments.

Sorry Bob..another question. Can the rear axle simply be taken off the old swingarm, without disassembly (except the rear caliper of course) and then slide into your swingarm? What I'm trying to get at is....will I able to swap this swingarm out at the campsite without having my complete toolbox? I don't want to be messing with the axle bearings without being in the comfort of my own garage!!!

Need to purchase the Factory UTV swingarm for the 170, but the website states that it won't work with an 'oversize' sprocket. What is an 'oversize' sprocket? I have a 36T sprocket on it right now that came with the 'big-wheel kit' from Polaris. (I believe the factory sprocket was 32T). Is the 36T an 'oversize'?, or will it work with the new swingarm? (I did contact them on web site, but they weren't able to answer the question fully. She told me to ask on the Forum). Anyone have any advise? Thanks!!!
