Factory Spring Rates?

Does anyone have the specs on the factory spring rates? I thought it would be directly related to the part numbes. But then I compared the part numbers for the helper spings to main springs and they have the same 3 digit ending which is usually the rate and I know the 2 are not the same rate.

Thanks!

Yes, they actually do have rates and are not just there for looks. If they were not needed then wouldn't Polaris/Fox take them out to cut costs??? Or if they are not needed just take them out and move the adjusters all of the way down to save weight, the entire body of the shock is threaded...

The helper springs have their own rates as that determines when the main spring is utilized. Look at the Wildcat vid of the rear suspension, it has 2 springs and they are different rates. You can tell this as one compresses more over the small little hits and the other does not move until the larger ones. One is a helper and the other is the main. AC is using a different approach but the same idea.

the small spring is not part of a dual rate set up, on the wildcat it is. the wildcat was originally going to be triple rate with rebound adj on shock but they went with dual and no rebound. however you could buy some short springs from king or other race spring manuf and play with your rates.

They are not there to act as a "low rate" suspension spring. A true dual rate spring is going to be much beefier that what the Fox "helper spring" has. Its there to keep the main spring tight in the shock when you have no preload. You might get the tiniest amount resistance but nothing significant. Again, when you set the shock with preload those helper springs get compressed completely. A true dual rate will be a much bigger section of the shock.

Nobody has reported that yet, but with Polaris, who knows? I upgraded my springs shortly after i purchased the RZR (stockers were sagging badly), but I've had no warranty issues, so I haven't had an opportunity to test the hypothesis.
