Pick up my '11 S this Saturday. Want to be educated on what to offer for the 60 month extended warranty if I do decide to purchase it.....Polaris warranty only, thank you.

One of a few reservations is that I'm buying out of state and know local dealers will be none to happy to do warranty work.

I SWEAR I did a search using multiple key words and could not find a thread even though I KNOW it has to have been covered.

Thanks in advance.

I found this on a previous thread and bought the 5 year

5 year $775.00
4 year $675.00
3 year $575.00
2 year $475.00

These are Polaris Star $50.00 deductible warranties.

If you have any questions or wish to purchase give us a call at
1/888/880/2277 and ask for Frank.

Talked to Frank yesterday. Same price for either the Polistar $50 deductible or the Western $0 deductible.

Frank said he would go with the Western. Supposed to be good at any shop and no hassles with Polaris wanting to deny coverage because you actually used your machine.

On other sites there are many complaints about Western's handling of car warranties.

Tough call.

Where is western and who are they?
Do you pay all this up front or in payments?

As I posted elsewhere, if you wait until near the 6 month mark after you buy, you will get a letter from Polaris. I paid $450 for the 5 year Polistar Plan. I have followed up with them and it is warranted until 3-31-2015. The letter gives you a 15 digit "Invitation Number" which permits you to take advantage of the special pricing. You can try calling 1-877-472-1372 and ask them about your specific RZR- maybe they will work with you. There is window of time that must be met.

Very interesting Snoball....I receive the monthly polaristar solicitation for an extended warranty. Last one received about 3 days ago with the exp. date on my factory warranty 12/5/10. The 5yr plan listed as $1458.00 /$50 deductible. WTF???? I just purchased the Polariswhore 4yr/$50 from Frank at Motorsports superstore (888-880-2277) for $675. He was extremely prompt in answering e-mails, very courteous and the transaction took all of 4 minutes over the phone. 5 stars for Frank!!!

Thanks everyone!!

Arctic, school me on your search prowess....LOL!!!

I tried everything from: "Extended warranties"; "Price paid for extended warranties", "Warranties".
I didn't do a search. A thread popped up just about the time I was looking to get the extended warranty about a month ago. Just got lucky

I had the same experience. Polaris wanted full retail from me also in the letter I received. So I went with Frank's deal.

Vegas,

Was following your other thread about the '09 vs. new '11.
Do you mind my asking where you're going to buy, and what price before taxes? (I know you're not paying taxes, but just saying).
Thanks, and congrats!

I got a 4yr warranty for way less than what is posted for a 2yr. After years of buying dirtbikes, quads I've learned how much the Dealership pays for the warranties. We bought a 4yr for our 2010 RZR 4 and played hardball with the sales guy. We got our for about $250 I think. I know it was not over $300. Remember that the dealership is making almost all profit from aftermarket plans.

Thanks all,

Manke, the dealer asked me not to disclose the price. I will say I was treated more than fairly. My contact was Jason at 951-743-3759; tell him Jack from Vegas sent you.

From all my research, Invoice is right about $12.9+-.......I never expect a dealer to lose money but I do want a fair deal.

I just got quoted a hundred bucks more than these prices:

Be careful with Western unless they have changed in the last year or so. Their coverage was very suspect the last time I had someone representing them knock on my door. If I remember correctly they didn't cover Fuel Injection on ATV's and SXS.

We personally sell Interstate Star or the Polaris ESC. Most of our customers go with Interstate though.

Just so you know, Polaris doesn't own their own ESC. It used to be GE and as of Jan. 1 2011 it has changed to Assurant. It wouldn't surprise me if Assurant is dropped after the first year. They only have a one year contract with Polaris as I was told.

Sorry for the rant but hopefully that helps you guys out.

For the record, both of my motorcycles have Interstate ESC on them and I will buy it on my RZR as soon as the wife lets me buy a RZR. :)

Polaris just changed companies (01/01/2011) that handle thier extended warranties. I suggest PolarisStar warranty because they are a Polaris "partner". At least you have somebody else to argue with.

That's inflation for you. I wonder if dealer cost went up or if they decided they could charge a little more.

As the thread states, the company providing the warranty changed so they most likely have a different scale for their pricing.

Any Canada prices?? My warranty is almost up and need to extend. Any good deals I have been told warranty prices are all firm.

Thanks
i just bought a 5 year polaris star for $1,800.00 up here in sherwood park. they started at $2,400.00. i shopped all over the place and Elk Island Polaris gave me the best deal (i think). Prices in Canada are a joke.
