Do you have to use this method when changing out the springs on the Rzr-s? I am going to replace mine with Makin Trax springs and I don't recall his instructions mentioning this. Good to know though.

Several auto parts stores have a tool loaner program. I was able to get a spring compressor that really made the job easy. Just had to pay a deposit which was refunded when the tool was returned. Originally they told me it wouldn't work on ATV shocks, but I removed one and brought it into the store and we saw it would work.

I was replacing my bump stops with new ones from Summit racing. It was reported before but you can unscrew the top loop on the shock. It needs to be heated since it has red locktite on it. There is also a tool available that lets you pull the bump stop right over the top mount.
