check your idle it should be about 1200 to 1230 rpm if it's to high it will cause it to grind, it also could be the belt, have you replaced one recently? sometimes the wrong belt will stay engaged and also cause the grinding hope this helps you out!

Another thing to check is your primary clutch bearing. It should spin freely and if it is the stock bearing it will be a one way bearing, meaning it will only spin in one direction. If it is bad, have it replaced with a two way bearing, they are much cheaper and work just fine on the S model, many here have done it. The plastic washers on either side of the bearing will probably be shot or completely missing also, you will need to replace them.
