40 pilot and 110 main night and day difference. Runs like a singer sewing machine. No backfires no hick-ups. Fires right up no choke.
What year is yours? We just bought a 2012 and wondering if I should order these jets to switch out before we take it out?

Anybody know if these are the size jets I should use in my 2012? Thanks much!

Depending on your location (altitude, humidity, temps) will have some effect on your jetting. The 40 pilot should be good regardless of location. The main may need to be played with a bit but the 40/110 set up will definitely be better than the stock 35/100 (I believe Polaris jets them lean to get thru emissions requirements). The 2011 and the 2012 are the same motor/aspiration wise anyway.......

OK thanks..Ill pick one up then!

And we ride east of San Diego..Ocotillo, Superstition, the dunes..not sure of the elevation there

You should be fine with the 40/110 here in Cali at low elevations............Going up in elevation like over 5,000 feet you will need to lower the main......

Not familiar with Texas and the climate there however if you are experiencing the lean condition as as I did after the purchase this will be a step for the better.

I would assume Texas to be dryer than California so maybe even fatter on the main. Bigger wont hurt in fact I have run as big as a 135 in the main with a 40 pilot and while it was too fat at top, it wont hurt the motor like too lean would. You should always go a little fat first and adjust lean if needed.

Make your adjustments in small increments and track what you do. It can take several to many assembly-disassembly of the carb to make changes and get dialed in but one you do it will be worth it.

Instead of me re-typing the pages of info, google "how to adjust a keihn 22mm carb" or "how to adjust a keihn carb" and you should get some useful info on the correct steps to take to verify the correct jetting. OR better yet here ya go

One last thing keep in mind if you make drastic elevation changes you will need to make changes again..........

I need F.I.and a turbo on my 170. Better get to it.............

Almost forgot, currently I have made no changes to the stock needle position of 3rd from the top (middle notch). All jetting changes were in main and pilot.

well i definitely got the problem. But I'm wondering what I would need to do here in tennessee (elevation 900ft) with going up to approximately 2500 ft when we take it to Windrock cruising around. Guess I could call my dealer and get their take on it.

We ride the same elevation 900 at home and 2000 in the mountains, I solved all my problems with a pipe and intake from Vent Racing, jetted the Pilot 40 and the main 120, perfect combo, I was so mad seeing my son upset every time we rode and this thing would spit, sputter, and die that it made it so worth the extra $ I spent.

Thanks for the input. Where did you jets (order or local retailer)? part numbers would be great if you got it? Where are you located? We are in East TN.

(Think I found a couple of sources, - Jets R Us and some outfit on ebay). Looks like they want $5-7 per jet plus shipping. I think I will try some local folks first.

Looks like a pretty simple change.

We are located in North Texas and ride in Oklahoma dunes and Arkansas moutains, so we also fight elevation changes, I just happened to have some left over jets that i found in my tool box, the pilot jet is the same one as a YFZ 450, i believe it is the keihin 21 series size 40, the main jet i found was in my raptor 660 pile, which I used a 120, 100 is stock, I'm almost certain that if you jetted your stock rzr170 with this same set-up it should make a world of a difference, also remember to adjust the air-fuel mixture screw at the back of the carb when you get done and the machine is at operating temp. The way I did it was we went to our pasture and found a long stretch of flat ground and I kept adjusting 1/4 turn until hesitation on take off was gone and was clean sounding all the way through the RPM's. Hope this helps as it did with ours, good luck!

If anyone is interested, I ended up getting my jets from "Jets R Us". Had to take everything apart to make sure I was ordering the right stuff. I just ordered my stuff so I haven't confirmed that this is the right stuff so I will report back when I do. By the way, there are some folks on ebay that sale the stuff also, but it was a little hard to describe exactly what you want. Here are the Jets R us links.

pilot jet main jet

haven't installed yet as we haven't been able to run it much (rain) and I haven't had much time to tinker with it. Plus I had some other work done and it has been running much better. I ordered the wrong ones at first. Pretty sure I updated the links once I got the right ones. You might want to pull yours and measure. Sorry, I will try to look tonight and update.

So does anyone have the part number for the 40/110 jets or is this still a guessing game.
Another question is will they work with a stock pipe and airbox with intake between the seats. i contacted Vent about this issue and they told me that they thought that was too big and only wanted to sell me the overpriced intake.

Goto jets r us and put in the rzr as the model and It will show you the right jets. I would order the 40 pilot then order a 105 and a 110 then you can see which main is best for you

As most people on this forum knows, I did a motor swap in our 170, but my buddy bought one for his little girl and I gave my stock carb that was already jetted and tuned with a 40/110 jets and it didn't like it at all until we put the vent racing intake on it that I had left over from the old stock motor, we ride at about 800 -1000 ft elevation, so that will probably make a difference but I think these things run much better with the jetting, intake, and exhaust. Mine did before making the motor swap.
