I believe that bracket is to mount the storage box you can get from Polaris and other places.

The other models like the 1000 S and 900's do not have this bracket. The Polaris Under Hood Storage Box will fit all of these models even though they do not have this bracket.

 

I even tried my local Polaris dealer. They couldnt give me an answer to what this bracket is used for.

Thanks for the info. I cant blow up your picture to see what it says on the cover of your two fuse blocks. Can you tell me what the cover says.

 

It's for an optional fuse block. '17 (maybe earlier?) Rangers have them close to the same spot with the same dimensions and bolt pattern, except Polaris actually labeled the spot on the ranger.
